If you knew the birth date of your deity, would you celebrate their birthday? :blowcandl
Do deities even have birthdays?
This is probably a very dumb topic.... :whatmewor

Soem of the Egyptian deities have birthdays, most notably Set, Nebet-het, Aset, Ausir and Heru-ur. I think Het-hert's birthday is known too. Either way, i'd happily celebrate biorthdays. Give offerings, say prayers, have a party. It's what you do for your God's birthday. :D

:D Good. Now I'll go search for the birthdays of my Goddesses, if they have one. And I'll plan a party! Lol, sounds so dorky. _travolta_

depends on the pantheon, really, and the calendar they used. The Egyptian calendar is structured into three seasons of four months long, about 120 days each season. To keep it up to date with the solar cycle, they added an extra 5 days, making the total 365 days long. The days were won by Djehuti from Khensu, where He won enough light to fashion 5 extra days for Nut to give birth during, as Ra had banned her from giving borth during the year, either cos he was afraid of his rule being usurped, or because he was angry at Nut and Geb, as siblings, falling in love and having babies, depending on the version you read. These extra days are called the days upon the year, and were considered outside the normal 360 calendar days. Set, Ausir, Aset, Nebet-het and Heru-ur all have their borthdays on one of these days (the order escapes me). Other national deities may have had siginifcant feast days designated as their birthdays, though only Het-Hert comes to mind. That's how they came to have their birthdays.
bright blessings,

Ooh that's very interesting. I used to be really into Ancient Egyptian mythology when I was younger. I think I should start looking into it again. :)

A lot of deities do have special days devoted to them. I celebrate those days. But then again, if you feel a deep connection with a specific deity, every day is a reason to celebrate them. You don't need a particular reason. As for birthdays, I don't think that deities have them in my opinion. Maybe you can celebrate when they came to you.
