Hi All,

I must admit that I am afraid of seeing ghosts and other paranormal occurences. I am a whimp! Now my husband is quite different and when we were first dating he was having all kinds of strange nightly occurences. He teased me about them a few times and I have never let him tell me about them. But ever since we have moved in together (for 3 years) I have had these types of experiences when I am sleeping or close to sleep.

- Feeling a cat jump up on the bed but when I turn to look there is no cat.
- Sleeping on DH's side of the bed when we was out of town and "dreaming" that a cat (not one of ours) came walking into the bedroom and over by the bed. I told DH about these and he confirmed that he has many cat spirits that follow him house to house.

- When I am alseep I sometimes "dream" that I get up out of bed and walk around the house, to the kitchen or bathroom. Or just lay in bed as if I am awake but things are just slightly different then normal.

- On one occassion I walked to my bathroom and was looking in the mirror then I felt very odd and looked down my hall. I saw my aunt (who is young and alive). I walked over to her but then was filled with "something is not right here" and realized that I was supposed to be asleep. I started yelling to wake up! wake up! And I did.

- Sometimes I am close to sleep and hear vioices yelling in my ear. Really loudly.Or that things are shaking/ jumping on the bed.

- Recently I woke up at 5:30 in the morning because my husband got up to use the bathroom. I was wide awake but started falling back alseep. In my sleep I was awake in my bed and heard a woman's voice very loudly. She said a man's name and nothing more. The voice seem to be coming from my window area. And in the distance I heard a newborn type baby crying. The man's name was Derek something and I got this strong sense of the Civil War. I think I woke up for a minute and feel back to sleep. Then I was walking through my house again.

- The next night I was dreaming a real type dream. I was with my friend and were talking about cakes and going to eat some goodies at her house. Then I started looking around the house and seeing details and becoming aware. I turned to her and said "I am dreaming. I know this is a dream." She did not answer or seem aware that I was talking.

Ok folks..... what is this if anything? Maybe just dreams or as a co-worker suggested "just stress".

Well I wish my opinion were the same about just stress but --- being the reciever I am, I have had several experiences like this.

Is this something that didn't happen before you were living with your DH?

Just wondering......

It's cool you can control things in your dreams that's a very good thing! :)

Hi!

That's correct. I can not remember having any experiences that the ones I mentioned above living with my DH. But we have been living together for almost 4 years and my experiences are not very consistent or frequent but ........ I can not deny they exist. :crystalba

Rhianna, I'm not sure what they are, but I have the cat thing happen to me ALL the time! I have a cat that lives in the house and I'll feel him jump on the bed, but when I look, he's sound asleep in his chair next to the bed. The only thing I can think it is (for me at least) is that my other cat died on my bed about 4 years ago and I'm wondering if it is her letting me know she's come to say hi.

Some of the things you describe (like feeling like you're getting up and walking around the house, or lying in bed but "not quite right") sound like they might be out of body experiences or astral travel.

The other things, like the invisible cats, could be cat ghosts or spirits. They might be the ghosts of cats your husband knew as a kid. Did he have cats when he grew up? Did he play with cats when he was younger? Even if he didn't it could be that he just naturally attracts cat spirits.

If you are doing some spontaneous astral travelling or out of body experiences, you might be encountering spirits or ghosts while you are in that state.

There is a book I just got on the weekend called "Astral Dynamics" by Robert Bruce that goes into a lot of details about out of body stuff. You might want to look for a copy as it has a lot of practical descriptions of how to do it on purpose, what to expect, and how to handle different parts of the experience like some of those you've described.

hmm sounds to me like you've been having some out of body experiences....and that you're also a lucid dreamer :)

Yep, I agree - it sounds very similar to what happens to me when I spontaneously astral travel :uhhuhuh: I'm slowly learning to control it when it happens, and hope to someday soon be able to do it at will. Im receptive to spirits when I'm awake, but when I'm astral theyre veen more 'in my face' :T

(thanks for recommending that book, ben - I think Im gonna go get it myself! )

i have to second that recommendation. wonderful book. i'm about halfway through it. (it's a pretty hefty book)

i lucid dream and astral travel as well, and your experiences sound a lot like mine. just last night i got out of bed to go to work and walked into my kitchen and it was rearranged. then i checked out the living room and all my stuff was packed. i was like... okay, i'm lucid dreaming. so i woke myself up. had to get ready for work or i might have stayed and played. you can do some cool stuff in lucid dreams. lol

WOW I am so happy I posted this. I have been wondering for some time know and just didn't know where to start. It's hard to research something if you don't know what it is.

I will add that my DH is very sensitive and has had many experiences with the otherworld. He was having them almost nightly before we started dating and some of them were very intense. This has always freaked me out so I would not let him tell me the details (plus he likes to "scare" me). But when we started dating his experiences decreased a lot. A friend who is "gifted" said I grounded DH a lot, which is good but the down side is he won't have as many otherworldly experiences.

But it looks like he is rubbing off on me too! So I will read up more on astral projection and out of body experiences. If anyone else has some experiences like mine - please post them!

 :hugz: sounds like you're balancing each other out!
Dont be afraid of astral travel - enjoy it! It can be rather fun :) A friend and I have devised some tests for next time it happens to me. I'm going to
a) try and roll a marble off a table
b) check the time, and visit a friend - the next day, ask them what they were doing at said time & see if it matches.
c) dip my hand into some water - see what it feels like, if anything!

PS - I posted about my last experience here (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showpost.php?p=1417090&postcount=18), if you're curious :D
