I need some support

I don't ask for much often, but I am having a really hard time right now...we are having to move, and we have some wonderful friends who have graciously allowed us to move in with them, which will get us out of this godawful town where we do not belong...unfortunately, we are unable to take our animals with us, except the 2 birds and 2 fish (bettas)....we have 4 kitties and 2 dogs...my kitties I have had since they were babies, and the one dog since she was a pup...we are having to find homes for them for a few months, and one of the dogs (my baby) I am afraid I shall have to give up forever, which kills me...and my kitties...one is 17 and not doing great...I already know that once she goes somewhere else, she will pass quickly...I have had her since she was 5 weeks old...and my others I have known since they were 2 weeks old...one is 13 years and the other two are litter mates at 6 years old....I just ask for support for me to get through this emotionally, and for them to make the transition smoothly and for us to be reunited after just a few months...:wah:

My heart aches for you in this situation. I don't know what I would do if I had to part from my animal family, but I know that you are doing your best to make sure their needs are met and are keeping their best interests close to your heart.

Have you tried contacting a local animal rescue group? Very often, such groups will have "foster homes" where they keep animals for a time while trying to find the best new home. If there is any possibility that you would later be able to re-claim your critters, they might be able to help you find a way.

And talk to your animals about what is going on. Though they are very sentitive/intuitive and generally have a good picture of what is happening, it is very reassuring to them to have you address them directly. They do know that you love them, and that you are trying to do the best you can for them.
