Having some trouble connecting...

Most of you know by now, by my posts, that I am still on my journey to understanding what path to follow.
I am having a really hard time connecting to Goddess/God due to the fact that I do not see them as "people" for lack of better term. I see them as divine energy that is in all and everything. I also believe in the spirit world with our ancestors and passed loved ones all around us. I guess I just would like an opinion as to what to call this...I feel sort of funny saying Goddess/God when I usually associate that with people?
I don't know who or what to pray to in order to connect and build a relationship. :(

sounds like you're more pantheistic than anything else. why don't you try terms like mother earth, father sky, sister moon, etc... more shamanistic type terms?

Good question. I mean, we all have energy that derives from something we have - faith or a belief. When we have a bad day and things don't go well, our energy is very very low. However, when we are full of energy and happiness - it flows through us and sends it out to others as well. I connect with Brigid so much because her background and what she symbolizes is very personal to me. Finding that connection that is deeply personal is the key in my opinion.

You might also want to look into animism. I think there's an animism thing going on over in the Circle of Teaching forum... if not, just punch it into your favorite search engine...

Hello Dawnseve, I noticed your thread and I find myself with the same exact beliefs you seem to have here on your post. I, also, have been having a hard time with..connecting. I've been saying god and goddess but it's been really hard for me. I just don't feel anything. When I was Christian (at a VERY, VERY young age) I connected better because I had seen god as a more human like form. A picture of Jesus also helped with the imagery but now my beliefs have changed SO much. It's hard for me to feel anything. I'm not much help at all because I'm having the same problem. I would be interested in other ideas. I was thinking maybe "replacing" the name god and goddess for divine energy or great spirit. Hummmm.... :twitch:

you do sound almost exactly like me. Its so good to hear from others with the same issue. Yes, it's very hard for me to feel anything but my journey isn't over. I am still hoping someday things will change. thanks sincerebliss!
