Way cool! And you have the fireplace from heaven! Love it! Where abouts in the country are you moving/do you live?

Congratulations, btw....that is something we hope for sometime within the next couple of years (housing here is ridiculously high).

Out in suburban Maryland. It looks like the countryside, but it's right around the corner from the mall. :) And the fireplace is awesome. It's got a heatilator, so we can keep the doors closed and pump the hot air into the room. :)

Rockprincess, we settle on December 13th - then we'll paint and do some little improvements and move in around Jan 1.

Now there's a feature I'd give a lot for. We have a nice fireplace in the house we rent (you can see it in the Samhain altar thread in here), but the house is very open, which I love, so there's little heat that you get from the fire. When the power goes out, with the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows we have, it gets really cold in here.

I don't live to far away from Maryland! And I just became a homeowner for the first time in May of 2002. It was like having a baby, I was so excited. I'll post pics sometime!

It's beautiful ben!
I think the panelled room would look fabulous if you painted it all except for the whole wall with the bookcase on it; that would look pretty funky :)

And my god! How big is that yard?!

Oh, Ben it's a wonderful house. (*feelings of jealously arise*). I love that fireplace and flooring in the kitchen. I'm sure it will be wonderful for you too. Btw, I have a mother in law in baltimore. Good luck with the remodeling with the paneling.

Congratulations, Ben! :dancy:

Your new home looks awesome - and the backyard could be in the English countryside, by the looks of it. You've been blessed indeed.

That's the plan. We're going to paint the walls white, but leave the brown behind the built-ins -- cool huh?

Here's the cool thing. Our property is only a quarter-acre. The actual backyard of the house extends like 20 or 30 feet behind the house. After that, it's all common land that belongs to the homeowner's association. There's a pond with a bridge, a playground, etc. But it's all very private, so it's more or less like it's our own backyard, EXCEPT that we don't have to worry about mowing the lawn or raking the leaves! Woohoo!
