Hey, now you don't even have to stand up to kill a deer!

I heard that on NPR yesterday. To me that's not hunting. That's a person just wanting to kill something because they like killing and they're too lazy to actually hunt.

We already have a thread on this...in Just Talk I think. And this also doesnt have anything to do with politics. :)

Sorry, I tried looking for it and I didn't see anything. Aaaand, the description for the political folder also says environmental concerns, and this is certainly that. You can delete it if you want, we don't need two threads.

WOW!:bangyourh Yeah, WOW.. That is just disgusting. Here, hunters aren't allowed to spot light a deer, or use laser sights or night vision, because it gives them an unfair advantage. It's against the law to hunt with a shotgun firing more than a single rifled slug, or a rifle capable of holding more than 7 rounds of ammunition. And thermal tracking devices are a major no-no. Where's the sport in hunting via Internet? This wouldn't be considered an unfair advantage?:grrrrr: The deer literally would not stand a chance. There would be no sound to warn them of a hunters presence, nor would there be any scent. It's thoughtful of them to have an aid on standby to dress the animal. But that's the only thoughtful part of this plan. Is there a petition I can sign against this? :flamer:

This is assinine! I don't agree with hunting personally, but can understand hunters who eat what they kill etc. This however, is horrible. Hunters now not only have ranches that smuggle endangered species into them, and allow these big tough men to shoot them while penned in or enclosed in fences, now these people don't even have to leave home. I can see it clearly an obese man drinking a beer at his computer, with just his jockeys on clicks the mouse and boom, there ends the life of a magestic animal. How ridiculous. What is our relationship with nature? I'm disgusted, truly disgusted.

That has got to be the ultimate lack of respect for living creatures.
And what happens if they only wound the animal- then it is left to suffer, because no one is there to kill it off.
Disgusting.

Allowing some private rancher to host “hunting parties” via the Internet is no where near the same as supporting and allowing controlled hunts. How are they supposed to enforce laws regarding “regulated animals” on private property? It is quite possible for these people to set up a processing station within the boundaries of the owners land. What is to prevent Internet hunters from poaching? This is what check stations are for. Here it is legal to take a deer on private land with out obtaining a license, IF you are the owner or tenant of the property, and the animal does not have to be “checked”. All others, this means visitors, have to possess a hunting license WITH a tag in order to hunt. Will there be a limit on the number of animals each “hunter” is allowed to take? How will this be enforced via the Internet?

"We were looking at a beautiful white-tail buck and my friend said 'If you just had a gun for that.'
Heh - that statement speaks volumes about the mindset.

That`s freaking insane! I`m a hunter myself, but I do it for the full chest freezer @ the end of the season. Is this A-hole just gonna let them rot or what? He needs a slap!
