I have been wanting to put this up for a while but wasnt sure where to put it so i figued this is the best place..
in the australian witchcraft mag they had an article about wiccan prayer beads and how to make and use them.. i thought i would share it with you all as i have found them very helpful in my meditations over the years.. i dont want to step on toes in regards to copyright stuff so i will say for the record.. I didnt come up with this.. it wasnt my idea i didnt come up with the concept of wiccan prayer beads.. i will tell you how i personally make them though.. the prayer is the same as is found in the mag..
now thats out of the way here goes....
you need
5 clear beads
1 purple bead
1 orange bead
1 pearl bead
1 red bead
1 blue bead
1 special bead or charm
some small seed beads to go between the larger beads above..
thread or fishing wire
thread the beads in the following manner 11 seed beads, the purple bead, 11 more seed beads, the clear bead, 11 seed beads, orange bead, 11 seed beads, clear bead, 11 seed beads, pearl bead, 11 seed beads, clear bead, 11 seed beads, red bead, 11 seed beads, blue bead, 11 seed beads, clear bead, 11 seed beads, special bead/charm tie ends together to make a necklace/braclet.. you can use as many or as few seed beads as u want i use 11 when making them for others but any number that is special or magickal for you is fine..

the chant/prayer
( use the beads as an aid in visualisation and in meditation... Breath deeply and move the beads through your fingers one at a time..)
each bead has a different chant..
purple bead: "I honour the Goddess and God within and without"
clear bead:"I dare to live in beauty, harmony and delight. I see with clear eyes and an open heart"
Orange bead:" I honour the earth. I work for her healing"
clear bead: (repete chant for clear bead)
pearl bead:" I honour the air. I work for its purity"
clear bead (repete chant for clear bead)
red bead:" I honour fire. I work for its creative use"
clear bead:( repete clear bead chant)
Blue bead:" I honour water. I work for its purity"
clear bead (repete chant for clear bead)
Special bead/charm:" I honour myself and the work that i do and will do each day. I am a child of the Goddess and God. I dare to accept the love of life as their sacred gift"
Breath deeply again and return to outer awareness..
*Blessed Be*

I use this prayer as a guide to writing my own but i have found it very helpful to.. I hope it can be helpful for other too.. Blessed Be ~Morrigan~

i made my own beads and prayers to go with them for the Netjeru. I was actually looking at Catholic rosaries at the time and how to say them, and that inspired me. It was all character research, cos there aren't any Catholics in my family, so when a character comes along that is Catholic, well, researching needs to be done :D And it's been interesting. I love my beads. I haven't read that article before, though i do buy witchcraft whenever i come across it and i have the money.

I think they probably got the idea from rosaries too.. The article was an old one.. probably about 4 years ago now.. sadly i havent got a copy of the full article any more but i did have a copy of the prayer writen in my study notes and i have 3 sets of the beads made too.. Blessed Be ~Morrigan~
