What's Soulbonding? Some info:

I know just how in bad form spell-begging is, and am loathe to "request" a spell on a public forum. I've seen enough "NE1 got luv spell?" to be fairly sickened by the concept. However, what I am wishing to do is SO unusual, I feel compelled to seek advice. I'm not looking for a complete spell, necessarily (though if anyone knows one for this, I wouldn't mind having it) but rather, help creating one, ideas, etc.
I've scoured the internet and while I can find pages describing this, I can find no spells or other ceremonial magick rituals for it. Most people who practice it do so fairly spontaneously, aren't witches, and don't usually seem to do so by choice. It happens, and they like it, but they don't actively seek that first soulbond. I, however, am very much a ceremonial/ritualized person.
I've experienced those spontaneous soulbonds, but they seem limited to me. I think this is because I normally interact with the spirit world using ritual as a kind of doorway, and without ritual, it's a bit like just looking through the screen door. I'm a bit tired of this and want to find the door wide-open for my soulbonds. I once even dreamt of one of my soulbonds saying, "It would help if you would just let me in."
Some would say, "No, no, you mustn't perform any soulbonding spells - if entities want to soulbond with you, they will, but you can't force then." The thing is, I'm not trying to force them. I get the feeling, however, that due to the way I've been practicing magick and interacting with the Unseen, with lots of wards/protections, I think I'd need to send a formal invitation if I wanted any sort of serious soulbond.
Here, I'm trying to find/develop that formal invitation. For some reason, I'm almost positive the usual spell formulas, with candles/incense/salt/etc won't be effective. I need something special, something unusual, but I'm not sure what. Something to invite the entity into my circle, introduce myself, to explain why I want/need this soulbond, invite the entity to join my person for a time, etc.
A lot like aspecting, actually. I've never tried aspecting, though, so I can't work from that. Perhaps someone could point me to an aspecting ritual I could adapt for these purposes. I want to be very careful doing this, because I'll essentially be opening myself up to other conciousnesses, and I'm a bit concerned if I'm not specific and careful, I'll end up hurting myself.
Any thoughts/ideas? Do others on this forum soulbond?
