cloaked, dark haired lady?

I always felt an inclination to Danu/The Morrigen, but now I'm not sure. However, I think someone is trying to contact me and Im not sure who she is.

I keep hearing a woman call my name. But I can never see her until I start meditating. She's usually right there, and sometimes startles me out of my trance. She has long long dark hair, and normally wears a dark cloak, most times the hood is up and she's shrouded in darkness. Once or twice it's been down, but I can never see her features, but always know she's smiling when she has my attention.

Last night, she was preceded by what sounded like, owls, which was sort of bizarre.

does anyone know who this could be? Or, what they want? She never says anything other than my name.

It doesn't sound like Danu or The Morrigan. I work with both. Danu's very earthy, a little too earthy to be shrouded in Darkness. At least, I've never seen her as such. The Morrigan is often wearing a cloak when I meet with her or see her. Yet, I'm not under the impression that it was The Morrigan you are speaking about. The owl made me think of Lilith, possibly Athena. I haven't worked with Athena though--so I cannot give much pointers there.

It certainly sounds like a Goddess is trying to obtain your attention. Have you tried asking her to reveal herself to you? Ask her to show you in your dreams and be patient. She'll make herself known when the time is right. Actually, it just dawned on me...Badb. She's an awesome Goddess--Try checking her out and seeing if that rings a bell.

Yeah, I'm getting the Badb vibe pretty loudly right now. :D

Be direct about it - next time you see her ask her who she is. She'll either outright tell you, or send you a clearer sign to help you figure it out. You'd be surprised how it never occurs to most people to just ask.

It could be any number of goddesses.

Sounds an AWFUL lot like Hecate to me, and one of her animals is the owl.

I concur. Hecate or possibly Lilith. But yes, ask her. If she's coming to you unbidden she wants your attention.

I was going to mention Hecate. I'd look into her too. I wasn't sure if the Owl was her animal or not. Most people tend to associate her with Wolves and Snakes?

Yep! and owls too....Wolves and Snakes and Owls-OH MY hee hee! Pretty much, the "creatures of the dark" are hers.

Sounds Like Lilith wife of Satan to me(Not the Jewish/Qaballa Lilith).The way you described her is exactly the same I as I see her and owls are sometimes associated with Lilith in some tales..When she first came to me she just said my name and told me to wake up......Sounded like my mother for some reason...

An owl- reminds me of Athena. Her animal is the owl. Goddesses all come to people with their own unique look though. For example, I see Persephone with light colored hair, not dark. However, I have a painting of her in my room, and the artist has given her dark colored hair.
