Devis, Angels, Avatars.... Any divine or semi-divine being that helps humanity in a moment of great need.

What is your opinion of them? Do they exist? Have you ever had any experiences with them? What do you know about them, if anything?

Never had an experience. I think there are spirits out there, but I don't think they are as powerful or even as purposeful as many people make them out to be.

I've encountered both an angel and some fae. Never ever did I see any of them in physical form. Thus do they exist? Yes. Can that be proven with current technology? I doubt it.

I believe they exist, and I believe that I did have an experience with... something. What that something was exactly I'm still working on. :)

But I also agree a bit with Pawnman, and I think that sometimes they intervene not so much to help, but because they just want attention.

Thing is, I tend to think of all of them as fairies. There are so many kind so fairies, and from different cultures and sometimes the dead are included with them, that I just tend to call every sentient spirit (that wasn't created by someone else) a fairy.

I don't think they often go out of their way to help people, but sometimes they will.

When i went to visit my mother in the hospital after my brother was born, I saw an angel floating over the fountain outside the building. That's the extent of my experiences, but I've heard stories of them intervening in human affairs and I believe.

We have pixies in the apartment, I kid you not. They are constantly hiding my wife's stuff (her keys, her wallet, her ID badge). At least, that's what she says. My stuff never seems to go missing, though.

I have the problem too. Mostly it's my jewelery that will go missing, when I KNOW where I left it.

Most of it reappears eventually though. In the bath tub mostly :whatmewor I dunno why they like my bathtub.

I believe in the Fae, I've had a few encounters with them. I've had them appear to me once, but mostly they like messing with me by hiding things, which ofcourse drives me crazy...

Hmm. Know what? I think I made a boo-boo. I heard it in the context in a Xena episode (so that should probably tell me something right there). It seemed like they were using it to mean a woman who appears mysteriously to bring either good luck or destruction on those she believes deserve it. Kind of like a Hindu version of Nemesis.

And as far as avatars go, I didn't mean the Charmed version. I meant the kind that are basically a messenger or aspect of some divinity that intervenes in the lives of humans for the sake of the greater good.

However.... when I look these things up online, I don't see a definition that exactly fits that concept for either one. I should have thought this question out better before I asked it, I think. (Or else perhaps more sleep would have helped.)

Yep they exist. Ive had experiences with them. Never an angel though. But I do believe angels exist.

I've been pretty keenly aware for some years now of an encampment of guardian angels that hang out here to protect me and my family. I've been aware of these protective spirits for most of my life, especially during times of danger when I can double check and make sure I'll be safe (like during a difficult move rock climbing or doing something dangerous at work).

I don't ever "see" anything in the spirit realm, but I can hear quite a bit. So I can't say what any of these spirits look like. I have had quite a few discussions with them. My Guide/God insisted that we keep all conversation rather shallow, so I didn't even get anyone's names. But I did get to hear what their perspective of life is, which has changed me somewhat.

I don't really talk to them much anymore. Talking with humans is much more enlightening at this point. Mabey I'm just not too much of a conversationalist, and really don't know what to say. It was quite fun though learning what I could from them!

I have an "angel" around me a lot. She (forgive me when I call it "she" because I think it's genderless, but I just feel it's more feminine that anything) shows up just as a few sparkles and nothing else. I really didn't know what it was at first. I thought maybe it was my eyes playing tricks on me, but then I realized she always shows up when I'm having a bad time and soon afterwards I feel better. It's like she casts positive energy over me or something.

My mom and I are magnets for "ghosts" and one time we attracted this really negative energy. It was bothering my mother one night so she told it to go away. A few minutes after she did this the negative energy showed up in my room and scared the crap out of me. However I saw the little sparkly things and the negative energy went seemed to leave me alone.

I haven't seen her in a few months though. I guess I'm just in a naturally positive place filled with lots of energy now. I'm away at college and not much bad has happened. I'm going home for winter break soon though and the energy had home always seems a little wacky.
