Brightest Blessings,

This post is for 2 reasons, one it is about Basil and one is to say hello.
I am a new member and i absolutely love this place, i am into herbs and stuff and cant wait to learn some new stuff about them!
Also i just wanted to say that my brother sowed some basil seeds and they turned out great!
I got some green basil off of my nan and i grew some purple basil. It has come up absolutely beautiful, basil is my favourite herb and i cant get enough of it.
I grew it indoors and some outdoors and both have come up great!
Now i was wondering if i could have some advice: i would like to grow a collection of herbs in a pot outside. Im in the Uk so Autumn is coming up and i wasnt sure if they would instantly die or not?

Merry Part and Blessed Be... WhiteMoon xXx

Hi WhiteMoon & welcome!

It's probably a bit late in the year to start your herbs from seeds. It depends a lot on the type of winter you get there. But if you're growing established herb plants, there shouldn't be any problems with growing them in pots. There are a lot of fairly hardy herbs that overwinter quite well. As the weather gets cooler, you might want to move them closer to the house, preferably in a protected spot so the pots don't freeze. Make sure you water them even during the winter times...not as much as summer though. And feed them as well.
