Last mercury retrograde was around the beginning of August. I don't remember what was going on then... but you know, it's just my luck to choose yesterday to get in touch with my ex. :-/
So when does the sun go into retrograde? That'll be really fun...

 Wasn't sure if you were joking or not, but the Sun (and the Moon) never retrograde... everything else though is fair game.
None of the planets ever actually go "backwards" in their orbits... it just looks that way from our perspective here on Earth. :)

thanks for the update. It explains SO much.
Yesterday was fantabulous. I'm talking, finding $10 in a pair of pants you haven't worn since last year fantabulous.
Today: I started my morning by getting up at 5:45 am to study for my history test today. Then half asleep resetting the alarm for 6:20... aaannnd forgetting to turn it back on. I got up at 7:58. I need to leave at 8:20 to get to class on time. There was NO way I could've made it. I HAVE to have a shower in the morning, it's all that will wake me up. And breakfast is even more of a must. Also I missed the first test in that class (cramps). Aaannd we can only miss one test. So :awilly:

My phone frazzled out for a while
My water heater has sprung it's third leak
I have no water now, in an hour I will regain my cold water
YIPEE! Cold shower in the morning!
disclaimer - if you couldn't sense the sarcasm, you need to have your head examined
Oh yeah, and I need to call "callwave" they say I owe like $200. WTF?! I never used callwave.

Moonstone--thanks for posting that. Looks like a nice site.
Actaully my computer has been knocking me off line alot.
Don't think its due to the retrograde, just more that it's a computer borrowed from Fred Flintstone.
Also, this may be benifitting me. Lots of good but slightly chaotic stuff happening around here!

Actually, I do pretty well until the last week or so of the retrograde, and then everything goes "pfttt". I figure as crazy as energies already are, what's a little retrograde to deal with?????????

During a Mercury Retrograde, there may be some difficulties/confusion with communication... a lot of times this is seen through technical problems with computers and such. :) It's also important during this time to "read all the fine print" and make sure you know whatever it is you are putting your signature on.
In general though, the energy of Mercury turns inward and makes us more introspective... People can be so busy living in their heads/thoughts that all these little Merc Rx annoyances could be caused due to lack of attention in some cases! It's pretty much a good time for anything that begins with "Re-": redo, revise, repair, rethink, etc... :)

As a Gemini, I avoid all major communications (talks about life changing events, ect) during this time. I find that what I'm saying in my head and what's coming out of my mouth don't match--I have a difficult enough time as it is without Mercury in retrograde!

I think the effects may be wearing off on me. I just found out yesterday that my grade for the year in Spanish I (well minus the final) is a 95! :jawdrop: I literally do my homework 15 minutes before class, NEVER study, and when we have to do an oral presentation where we memorize a paragraph in spanish. I read over them like 5 times, and say them maybe 3 times. :woot:
I've already signed up for Spanish II
I've had spanish classes before, like last millenium...
Anyhow, best of luck to everyone during the retrograde, I still have a math test to make up.. if you fail one test you have to do the math all over, it's so stupid.

LOL- can't tell you how many times over the last few days I have said, "well you know, Merc is in retrograde." :eyebrow:
Just yesterda, trying to shop, computers were off line. Do you know you can't seem to buy *anything* if the computer registers are offline??? My phone and computer went out the day before. My printer has been acting up completely for the last week.
So yup, uh huh... def. in Retro!

I've noticed when I am very introspective beginning a few days before Mercury goes retrograde. This is the extent of my knowledge of Astrology, which is on my 'to learn about' list. I did a lot of good inner work this time (sorting and tossing useless inner garbage from here and there) and am beginning to turn back toward others with a lot more room for the new. New friends, this board, a new... You get the idea.

That's what retrogrades are really good for: renewing, refreshing, revamping, relearning, etc, etc. The planet in question helps to decide what areas of your life will be affected. So MErcury will deal with issues of communication, intellect and travel.

Well, this time out I seem to be garnering my fair share of "mechanical devices" running amuck...I think I'll just leave well enough alone and not try to do anything to "fix" or "upgrade" or do anything beyond turning on a piece of electrical equipment. Apparently, we are also in a period of major solar storm activity that seems to be amplifying the affects of Mercury retrograde....Whoopee...the cosmos is running amuck...where do I go to get outta the way?

Keshin, your three sentences have just expanded my understanding of Astrology by 1000%. :yayhawaii :clapping: I noticed that it is my desire of communication with others that slows when Mercury is retrograde. I'll watch the other planets and see how I feel.
Another piece of me makes sense. :dancy:

Mercury goes retrograde for approximately three weeks at a time. This instance it went retro on November30th (for most of the world). It will end on December 19-20. (19th eastern hemisphere and 20th for western hemisphere)
