Origin of Tarot

I have always been intrigued about the origin of Tarot cards. There seems to be no definite answer to this and I was wondering if anyone has had any phycic insight into this subject. It seems to me that one might have even done a spread to help figure out the answer. Other than that, I would like to hear anyone's theories about the first Tarot cards or their predecessors; what do you think?
