well, to give a bit of background, i've been solitary for several years and have recently asked for student status with a local coven. i'm 30yrs old, and have never had a good 'sit down' about my beliefs with my mother, although i've always been outspoken on my views of main stream christianity and how i also have very pagan beliefs. my mother never forced religion on me and has always 'appeared' open minded (even though her family is not); my dad on the other hand has always shoved religion on me.
anyway...also, i have a sister, 18 and a brother, 17...and in the past year, have noticed they seemed to read alot of pagan/wiccan material. when i asked them about their beliefs i was astounded to learn they are quite similar to my own. this is strange because when they were 3 and 2, i went to live with my father and have only recently moved back to the area (i did see them though monthly).
ok...so, my mom and brother and i were all on the phone together the other night and i just told mom i had to tell her some things. her comment:
'you're not telling me something i didn't already know.'
LOL
it was funny...because my brother also told her and then we both said that our sister is pagan also!LOL mom wasn't surprised and we had some wonderful conversation about spirituality, etc. she's 1/2 native american, and tends to gravitate towards that part of her spiritual heritage as well.
now...i'm thinking yule would be a good time to spring it on my MIL!!!!!LOL
