I've been wandering the net today looking for fantasy images, and I've recently picked up Anne Moura's Green Witchcraft series again, after having it sit on the shelf for a while.
Anyway, I got to thinking, that while I prefer to work solely with Gods and Goddesses of the Welsh Pantheon, deities belonging to the wider Celtic circle, have crept in.
Originally when I began researching deities, I started out with the concept of Maiden, Mother and Crone, honing in on the Celtic Side, which would later close in on Wales.
Now I find it's not just Welsh orientated, its both Irish and Arthurian.
I know most people don't view the Arthurian myths and the figured depicted within as deities, but there are a few figures which I find intriguing.
Anyone else find that they work similar with deities?

I've never thought of it that way before, but now that you've pointed it out I can see what you mean. I'll have to look into it now you've got me interested! :reading:

I started out with Jesus Christ then went into Mary Magdalene which led me to doing research on the people..and race...and tradition.
oddly enough..it would always lead me to Hinduism & India.
I began doing the same with European gods/goddess..everytime it lead me to the same discovery.
I don't know of a divine being known to the west that isn't after contact with the Hindus.
it was to me as if the concept of something bigger than us wasn't part of the white world til later.
even when I found how new wicca was..that was a bit heartbreaking.
to the west some things are almost humanlike as if human themselves are gods...kinda arrogant.
while to the east it's metaphors & psychological... scientific & more profound,
while the west isn't as deep to me.

Yeah it's interesting how it all evolves.

have you done any research into tantra?
the tantric practice of working with the deities, they do this at certain kali temples, where they invoke the divine mother to aid her devotees etc...

Anyone else find that they work similar with deities? You describe my situation perfectly. I was once pretty music a Hergest purist (lol) but I've incorporated Arthurian practises as well, some Irishness is just walking in slowly too. Y Ddraig Goch is still my Overpatron, however.
