Hi all,
I'm just sitting here biding my time until this alleged nor'easter hits the Connecticut coast! They shut down my city, and so here I am with the day off!
I'm trying to think of things to do for the next two days, as we are supposedly going to get 20 or more inches of snow, something we're not used to!
I think once the baking and cleaning are done, lots of reading and napping will be done!
Anyone else in a similar situation?
By the way, Mol, the site looks fab! :)

I'm in NJ, at work, getting ready to leave before the road turns completely to ice. The governor shut down the state this morning. Just waiting for this to be over with, and I am look forward to *hopefully* having tomorrow off!

Thank-you for posting this. I should call my family and see how they are fairing. I'm out of touch with real weather here. I hope you've got a lot of books to keep busy with.

Just great! I won't get my paycheck tomorrow! :(

I have tons of books to keep me busy! I hope you get home safely, Kaylara! Be careful! The roads around here are already icy. I was going to take a walk to get a newspaper and decided against it.
While another day off would be nice, I'm praying for safety... and that the power stays on! :)

She sure is... are you all getting heavy rains over in the Seattle area? I saw a forecast and thought, sheesh! First a horrible earthquake ( can't imaging how frightening that was for you!) and now rains.
I hope you're ok!

Just the sounds from the radio here, and everyonce in a while a snow plow and the wind ! Kind of in a culture shock just filed for a divorce and moved into my sisters. She has 4 girls that have hopes of a snow day and I have hopes of a quite day. They don't happen often here and I do love the girls they are each special in there own way but love the novilty of me being here and have a need for talking all the time. After 10 years in a house with only he and I, this is going to be different !! Hoping everyone stays warm and safe till all of this passes over spring is on its way the crocuses were popping thru last weekend !!
I now know what my mom was talking about when she would say AHH BEDTIME LISTEN ISN"T THE QUIET NICE

I was seriously disappointed with the storm as well. When someone tells me I'm going to get 30 inches of snow, I want 30 inches of snow! I love the way it looks, smells, feels, etc. I love shoveling out of it when it's over. Yes, people call me crazy, but I love big snow storms. Light thunder and lightening, there's just something about them...

If it's any consolation I live in the unmentioned upstate New York and we got seriously dumped on and shut down for two days. None of the news shows mentioned that the storm actually hit inland...I got 36 inches of snow in 48 hours and although I did get a day and a half off it was spent shoveling. So I got the storm and I'm disappointed too!!!

P.S. At least it's beautiful today...but 6 more inches expected tonight...blah!!

actually it has been nice and sunny here as of late....

the earthquake was... interesting... not at all what they are showing y'all in the news... not really much damage except for some of the older buildings in downtown Seattle...

Out here by the mighty (ha!) Micro-Sloth, there wasnt much at all....

I know... My brother lives in Cambridge, MA and he told me about the massive amount of snow that you all had dumped on you. The center of the storm was supposed to be in my area... I wanted that snow! And I'm sorry you got it and didn't want it! Niether did my brother! He had to cancel a trip to Bermuda. Poor guy.

I don't know about you guys up in the Boston/Worcester area, but I'm getting more of the white stuff down here today. Today is my day off, so I slept in. I woke up to snow falling speedily from the heavens! And I wanted to go out and have fun today! Darn!
