Area 51 is very much real...I say this because i have a friend whos brother had really seen and guarded the spaceship which crashed with alliens on board..In his line of duty with the Air Force he had to have top secret clearance.one day when he had come home for a leave,he had to go to the vets hospital in Buffalo NY because of some sort of health condition..He was treated for post tramatic stress upon his appointment he had told doctors of what he had dealt with over the years in the service...now mind you, everything that was top secret was to be just that, not to tell anything or anyone of what went on...well before he had left for new york he had told friends, family and myself of what he had seen and guarded on the base about alot of things that had gone on there...the saucer is very real and kept under heavy guard, the alliens were in a container that looked like a 55 gal drum with a glass air tight top on it,with some kind of hoses putting fluids to preserve the beings..he told how they had looked and they were very ugly things with big eyes, small mouth, and no nose....when he had to leave back to the service he told everyone they will never see him again.!!!!! Now here is the weird part of it all...for some unknown thing he knew that when he told doctors, about what he saw,the government was gonna make him dissapear..Know what.??? He was right...his wife, children, and himself have been missing...this was in 1974....where is he? nobody knows, his house, belongings, and everything he owned was left behind and family members have contacted the Air Force on where they were...what do you think they told the family?..he was discharged from the service(honorable),and must of moved on with his life.!!!! give me a break, you dont move and dont tell family, friends, and most of all leave everything you own behind without taking it???? To this day, nobody has yet to hear from them....THANK YOU UNCLE SAM.!!!! Like the X-files said..THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE...over this long time frame Daves mother and father have passed away, can you think of how his parents felt going the the grave without a goodbye or so happy to see you are safe before you pass into the light?...someday we will all meet in the end and then the truth can be told, but then how do you tell the world what happen back in 1974.......

Yep. I heard that they can make people disappear. Even if not by killing them than by making them relocate..changing their names and threatening to do harm if they try to contact their old lives. Scary stuff. I used to want to work for Area 51. Seems cool for the single non family type person who has nothing to loose :) :fpompoms :fpompoms

The other day the Sc-Fi Channel had a special on UFO cover ups. It seems that the U.S. government, is not the only government trying to cover up UFO sightings and investigations. They also brought up Russian and British cover ups as well. I sincerely believe that there's too much evidence regarding UFO's to say they don't exist.
However, I think most UFO sightings have reasonable explanations. Maybe 20% are the real McCoy. Just my opinion... :hmmmmm:

www.drealandresort.com has a lot of good info about Area 51. Yes, it's a real place. Does it have UFO's? If you mean that as "Unidentified Flying Objects", yes, no doubt. I've seen them there many times. Do you mean Alien Spaceship? Uh, maybe or maybe not. That's up for debate. My opinion is perhaps we did get technology from a crash or something along those lines, but that the crafts I see flying around in the Nevada desert 90 miles north of Vegas are our own crafts. ^_^ That is where they tested the B2.
Heh, it's a pretty cool road trip if you happen to live in the southwest.

Hanger 18 is at Wright Patterson Airforce Base in Dayton OH. My friends dad worked there for years and when I asked him if there were really aliens and spacecraft in there he wouldn't answer me. He said he didn't want anyone from the government hunting him down. He took it to the grave with him. My husband and his buddy got a little too close to the fence there and MPs questioned them and then told them to leave or they'd be arrested!

Why make him disappear? He clearly broke the law when he told everyone about what he saw. The government would simply prosecute him. Why bother with his wife and children? What possible threat could they pose? If they go around talking about this stuff they'll just be written off as kooks. The only ones who would really listen to them are the conspiracy theorists, and no one takes them seriously except other members of that small sub-culture. If he knew the government would "make him disppear," why didn't he flee the country, go somewhere that doesn't have an extradition treaty with us.

Area 51 was the sight of experimental aircraft tests for decades. Even common aircraft can look pretty wierd from certain angles or in certain lighting conditions, never mind the experimental stuff. I remember several years ago when people reported mysterious "flying wedges" over Area 51. Hello! F-117, anybody? At the time the Air Force was denying the existence of any stealth aircraft, just like they do with any new technology, for security reasons. Massive cover-ups and conspiracies just aren't as easy as many people think. As for "what is the government hiding," they hide damn near everything. I worked in the personnell office of my ship in the navy. One of my jobs was typing up the forms for new I.D. cards. When these filled applications were no longer needed, they were burned as a security precaustion. Why? Damned if I know. The information they contained about the individual was about the same as the information on a driver's license. I have no idea what an enemy agent could use such information for. I guess rather than try and anticipate what the enemy will do, it's just easier to destroy the information. At any rate, the fact that the government hides information doesn't necessarily mean anything. And keeping a secret in a large bureacracy is virtually impossible.

Agreed. The most recent sightings involve something called the Aurora Project, which is suppossed to be a flying triangle of sorts. More than likely it's just another experimental plane. As for aliens, maybe... maybe not. And if they are there, we'll eventually find out, just like we did with the B-2, the SR-71, and the Stealth Fighter.

As I understand it, the Aurora Project is supposed to involve hypersonic aircraft which, if it were visually spotted (especially while in flight), could easily be mistaken for an alien craft.
When I was in high school, I did a history project on combat aircraft. I found out that the SR-71 first flew in 1964. Forty years ago we could make aircraft like that. The stealth aircraft were probably around long before they were publicly admitted to. In fact, the SR-71 incorporated some of the first stealth technology. It really makes you wonder what we have on the drawing boards (or maybe up in the air) right now.

Wow, yeah, mindboggling is more the word. :) I think that is something that a lot of people overlook is the sheer developmental and design time it takes to create these aircraft. I know the first time I saw the B-2 here at Whiteman, it sent chills up my spine when I finally saw it in person. And when you see them flying at night decending into a landing trajectory with landing lights ablaze, it is kinda like seeing a UFO.

I also heard that Aurora could go to outerspace back to inner space without any sort of rocket. I don't understand the technology behind that so I'm not sure if it's possible... but they did hide stealth crafts from us too. At this point I'm beginning to think almost anything is possible.
(Hee hee... kept stealth crafts hidden from us... I made funny! :woot: )

I honestly don't remember much. I read an article in Popular Mechanics several years ago. At any rate, forty years ago we were building things like the SR-71 and the XB-70 (now THERE was a cool hunk of aircraft!). If we could do that with 1960s technology, who knows what we can build now, especially when you take into account unmanned aircraft. Right now the limiting factor on aircraft manueverability isn't mechanics, it's human physiology. However, G-forces aren't all that big a deal when you don't have to worry about them causing the pilot to black out. Then you can do all sorts of "impossible" maneuvers at "Impossible" speeds.
