do u read the cards or does someone else read them for u.
sometimes when u read for yourself. u see what u want to see (concious or sub concious). its the same with pendulum work..
if you are not the reader,,there are times when u want the answer to 1 question and the cards give u advise regarding another part of your life that it feels is more important or needs adressing.
hope that helps..what i would do is sit down with the reading and see if it fits somewhere else in your life (hope u wrote the reading down..always good to keep a journal)

Like I said in my gut I don't feel what he is telling me is true and then when I am read they tell me he is not turthful, not in a mean way, but just in a confused way himself. So I was wondering, becuase I don't feel it in my gut, would the cards read that and not his true intentions. Could I be messing with the cards? Ok, lemme see if I can straighten this out:
1. you have a reading that is telling you that someone is not being truthful with you.
2. you feel in your gut that this person is not being truthful
3. this person is telling you that they are telling the truth.
IMO, I go with my gut reaction first. If it FEELS like someone is lying to you, then they probably are. After having a tarot reading tell me the person is lying would just be confirming my suspicions. Although, from what you saying about the reading, it seems as though this person may not really KNOW that they are lying to you, they may think they are telling you the truth. So, they are not intending to do you any harm by this lie.
Does that seem right?
If so, then what's the problem? Is it that you want the cards to tell you that this person is NOT lying to you?

OK, revising:
1. You have a gut feeling that things are happening (good things) with this person.
2. You have a tarot reading that is telling you that good things are happening with this person.
3. This person is telling you that those things (from your gut and the reading) are NOT happening.
Ok, well... perhaps he is still in denial? :) Did you get an "advice" or "outcome" card in this reading? I usally read advice and outcome as the same thing... At this point, all you can really do is wait and see.
How many readings have you had done about this situation?

Okay, best advice is to STOP ASKING. :) Too much of the same question is NOT a good thing. Eventually the cards will only be telling you what you want to hear, or they'll turn into gibberish. I'm not sure exactly why that is, but it always happens, at least that's my experience.
Also, with relationships, I never ask. I'll ask about a job, a decsion or something else, but never my relationship. My reasoning is that if I need to ask the cards about it, then there must be something wrong... and if that's the case I should be talking to the other half of the relationship and not a deck of cards! ;)

See that is the thing, I DON'T ask, it just always comes up over and over. Just when I believe it is over, so to speak, the reading say NO it is not. I was looking for info on a job this time and again this other thing comes up, the same way over and over. I since the first reading was never looking for answers to this part of my life. That is what is so confusing. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

I think emotions can deeply effect the cards. I've done readings when I was really emotional, and they turned out ..not right. Any other time, my readings are great.

1111, you may need to cleanse your deck if you feel they are stuck with one issue.
there's different ways to do this,
some people, hold them in their hand and give them a good rap on the table.
some, take and make an arc with the cards on the table.
some cleanse them with smoke.
Or maybe you need to pick up a different deck...
i know sometimes, when I'm reading for other's that the cards are speaking to me of my concerns, but usually put that out of my head till after I'm by myself to check it out...

oh i mean, how would one give a tarot card reading without the tarot cards? Using spirit guides instead of course would make it another sort of reading, wouldn't it?

Is it real or is it me?
Probably a little from column A and a little from column B. Considering so many readings with different people and different techniques all hit upon the same concept, I'd have to say there's a bit more than a grain of truth to it. Remember, though, that timespans in the tarot are indistinct at best. I've given readings that seem to turn around for people in a few days and others that become clear months after the fact. Maybe the timing just isn't right.
Remember this, too: a reading (or series of readings in this case) only define a potential outcome. If you push this other person too hard, they may blow you off out of frustration despite what the readings say. Don't give up, especially if this is something that you're willing to fight for, but also respect the feelings and point of view of this other person.

Online? But I guess there are still cards used somewhere. And I mean the automatic readers, not what's done here and via other similar technologies (i.e. IRC, AIM, etc.)

yeah
but 1111 said that this person used spirit guides to do this 'tarot' reading, and that there were no cards involved. so now i'm wondering exactly what that reading would be classified as.
