Anyone Else a Reinactor?

Just wonderd if anyone here is a Reinactor besides me (Im a Viking Reinactor btw). I just think it would be interesting to see if im the only one.

Ok, so this is not historical, but I have dresed up as Mother Earth for Earth Day and gone to the local Zoo's celebration and read environmental stories to kids...... It was prety cool. It's the only day of the year you be a Goddesss in charachter in public.

Ok to be technical this is not exactly what I meant to be a reinactor you must be/do the following

I: Chase each other round the fields with big metal weapons.
II: Be willing to end up in hospital at least 5 times a season (March to August is a season)
III: Most importantly be clinically insane cause hell i know i am.

Their are other things like dressing up and scaring children (in my case the scaring children bit is when i work on the infirmary with fake limbs...yeah I know its sick lol)

(Oh and before I get a hardcore reinactor have ago at me for the above just to let you know been doing it 2 years and yeah I take it seriously…most of the time!)

I knew what you meant. I was just adding a bit of humour...or trying to at least. Anyhow, I've done some reenacting, seriously. I've done WWII and 1812...and Pocahontas too...no...not the Disney movie.

Ooh! Me me! :wave: I'm in SCA and the Adrian Empire (Adrian Empire is similar to SCA, except they are more history oriented, sort of, and they use live steel as their heavy weapons and light weapons shinai fighting as training before you can go into heavies). Been doing medieval/Renaissance reenactment for about 14 years (if you include LARP with being an SCA groupie on the side).
