I know I've been gone a LOT lately, and haven't been posting at all. I'm too tired to explain it all now, but rest assured I have been sending off energy without fail to those of you who need it. I'm not going to go back and post to each one, but I hope all of you know that I am including you in ritual, thoughts and prayers; and I will continue to do so as much as possible.

In return, any energy that could be spared for our household would be greatly appreciated, especially for a resolution to the bill situation. If I disappear completely over the next few weeks, it'll be because we have no power, and I'll try to be back as soon as I can.

Blessings,
Michele

Thanks you all. Things are somewhat back on an even keel. Well, about as even as it gets when you are treading water and trying to keep your nose just out enough to breathe.

On the electric bill, I did find out that they canNOT disconnect us from Dec 1 to March something because it's winter, and our furnace is run by electric. So, that will wait until the 15th. Good thing too, as our bank account is overdrawn by over $200 (US $ even).

The Mate had his doctor's appointments and we found out a lot of things. There is a chance that the hardware in his back is out of place. To find that out, we have to get extension-flexion x-rays. If it is, then he will require surgery to correct it. If it's not, then it's on to the MRI to find out if yet another disk has collapsed. If so, then it's probably another laminectomy, and possibly fusion to correct that (it would be his third surgery). If it's neither of those, then we are in fair shape, but the pain specialist is leery of upping his dose of pain meds, and wants to install a morphine pump. It's one that would drip morphine directly into his spinal column. The side effects are lesser, and chaces are that it would provide better pain relief than what he gets now. Of course, it's a surgery to get that done as well.

In addition to that, The Mate now has a wheelchair. He isn't exactly thrilled about having it, and it's kinda tough for him to deal with, but it is helping, and for the first time in a long while, he actually wanted to stay and look around a store longer. On top of all this other junk, he's had a sty on his eyelid for the past 4-5 weeks, and it's bugging the heck out of him. It hurts, and we can't afford to go to an opthamologist and get it taken care of right now.

Of course, it could be worse. The Oldest has a massive head cold, and has been miserable for the past few days. He is barely functional, even after taking meds, and we're doing all we can to help him. The Youngest has a bit of the sniffles too, so we're hoping it doesn't get worse. The Mate and I seem to have weathered it fairly well, and jjust had the sniffles for a day or so.

The Mate was finally able to talk to the Middle for the first time in many months. He wants to come visit us when the snow starts. That's a good thing, as he didn't even talk to The Mate on his birthday. So perhaps some healing is going on there.

For my part, things could be much worse, but they could surely get better as well. I got scratched by a dog at work, and the side of my face is all swollen with infection. Because it healed over, I'm going to have to have my cheek lanced. And since I can't afford the doctor bills, I'm jjust going to do it myself with a sterile needle. Maybe then the gunk can drain out, and it will get better. I've also been cycling somewhat faster than usual with the manic depression, so it's been really rough. I had to go without several of my herbs (still don't have a couple) and have been feeling the effects of that. But that too will be resolved on the 15th.

As far as the arthritis, it's been bothering me quite badly. I seem to have hit a plateau, and haven't been able to lose any weight at all for several weeks. I really need to drop this extra 45 pounds, I'm very high risk for diabetes and heart problems. Trouble is, I can't exercise normally, because of knee and back issues. And I can't afford to get a membership someplace where I can swim, which would be the ideal exercise.

Now in to our pets. Salem, the 6 year old we brought home from the rescue has fluid on his heart. This could be a very bad thing. We'd like too get him to lose weight, but it's awful hard when nearly every other cat in the house is either at a god weight or underweight. We can't really give them light food, and expect them to be able to maintain well. I may see what other options we can figure out, because we do need to find a way to help him. Callie, (AKA Daddy's Spoiled Baby- he claims he is going to spoil her to see if he can make her explode hee hee) does have some neurological damage from the high fever she ran a couple months ago. There's a shot that she will wind up having seizures. We have to keep a close eye on that. For the most part, all that's left is three who need to gain weight. The others are in pretty good shape all around.

The rescue is in rough shape. It looks like we are going to have to turn most of the cats over to a sanctuary here, and disband the rescue, because donations are so low, and we just can't swing it. The vet tech who runs it, even with her discounts, can't afford the vet bills, and I don't have the extra to kick in. I guess we can say we tried, and that's the best we could do.

Well, I guess that's enough depressing crap, so I'm going to shut up.
