Hey ya'll. I have been brainstorming on ways to incorporate my newfound pagany ideas into Christmas this year, this being my first "Pagan" Xmas and all. The thought hit me as I viewed one of my stars from years before; suddenly I envisioned it centered in a Christmas wreath and voila! I had a Christmas Pentacle. Don't know if this seems right to anyone else, but it seems to fit me...also I think I'm going to wrap some of my larger crystals in wire and hang them on the tree too. Anyone else do anything kooky like this? _travolta_

Never thought of that before but I like it! I'll be putting one together this weekend :) Great thinking.

Well, originally, what is now called Xmas, was a Pagan holyday. So what I do, is ignore all the things that were added by the Christian traditions. Which means basically anything to do with the Baby Jesus and all that Nativity scene.
What I keep:
The tree, the fairy lights, the candles, the holly, mistletoe and all that...well, that's all Pagan! The love of my friends and family all around me, the food, the presents, the peace on Earth feeling, that's all Pagan too. :)

The only thing I just can't bring myself to ignore is the lovely Xmas music. I absolutely adore the Xmas carols. So what if they're about Jesus, he was a cool guy after all, wasn't he? :headphone

Hey not all carols are about baby jesus. Deck the halls is one that has a very pagan feel to it.

I love x-mass/witnter solstice/yule whatever you call it. And I celebrate it exactly the same as I always have. Our house glows. Look at the twinkly glow? Can you see it? My Jaymes thinks he can and he's over a hundred miles from me.

I also bought a new figure of a star and a cirlce slightly larger than the star back in the craft department at Wal-Mart for 48cents apiece. They are made of very hard gold colored wire, and I am going to put the star inside of the cirlce and use that for my tree topper, maybe, unless I decide I need a lit up one. Then I'll still make it a pentacle but I'll probably have to buy something else for it.

Hey, someone on here told me to patent the idea and sell it on late night TV...I can just see it ...now, for just three easy payments of 9.95, you too can own a Christmas pentacle...hand "crafted" by your local witch... :hehehe:

I'm not so sure that anyone will realize that the wreath is actually representing a pentacle if they're not into that sort of thing...I can't wait until the first Christian/non-pagan friend compliments me on my beautiful wreath...I'll be like "you know, it's funny that you mention it..." j/k

Cool idea!

I thought of one also - an 8 pointed star is very common for tree-toppers and general decorations. Often the star of Bethlehem is depicted as an 8 pointed star.

I like 8 pointed stars because they can be seen as representing the compass points (North, NorthEast, etc.), and the Wheel of the Year. Now, put an 8 pointed star in a wreath, and you have a really cool Wheel of the Year! _witchball

I'm kind of bummed because I'm living with my step father a he is the biggest holiday scrooge a know, he never decorates his place for the holidays, no music nothing. This is a very stark contrast to when my living with my father we had a little Christmas tree ritual when setting it up every year. Hopefully when I get place of my own I will restart the tradition.
