lately i've been feeling that something's wrong somehow with a friend of mine who hasn't contacted me in a abnormally long time.
but i'm always paranoid, so i can't go by that.
then today i see this white feather on the ground.
(i've not seen anything but crows and one bluejay here at my college)
so i wanted to pick it up but by the time i decided to i was a ways away from it.
so after class i see it's still there, and it's nagging me, so i pick it up and it's still in my bag.
anyone know of what a single white feather that nags u until u pick it up means? i'm completely ignorant at this stuff and would probly end up guessing...
if u can, email me at:
slvavrds@udel.edu
thanx!

Could be anything. I have that happen to me all the time, to me it reminds me about my kinship with the rest of nature and how the Gods are always there to help me if I only ask.

hmm. . . perhaps it means that your friend is thinking of you, and wishing to get in contact with you. Would you like a tarot reading? I'd be more than happy to try and see what the cards can tell me about your friend.
btw, welcome to mystic wicks!! ^_^

hey everybody, thanx for the welcome.
my friend's ok, but the day after i found the feather the US tragedies happened. *sigh*
and yes my friend had meant to get in touch with me. email is down or something. (argh)
Puma, I'd do a reading for myself if I had a deck! lol
I do have a personal question mainly for him that i'm too shy to ask (I'm sure you can guess what...hehe)
but thanx so much for the offer. ;)

Sometimes a feather is just a feather.

hehe yeah it coulda been just a feather. but white is an unlikely color of the birds around campus.
i also found one more yesterday, but it looked like it was from the lone bluejay i see around here. grey with black tip. (why the hell is there a bluejay here in delaware in september?? lol)
anyways, i can't think of any deities. i'm only familiar with the hellenic pantheon so the only birds i can think of are doves and other white birds (Aphrodite), white owls (Athena), eagle (bald) (Zeus).......
yeah, my memory's shot :p

What's you totem animal? Maybe it's a sign from him/her that they're watching over you. :)
Really could be anything though. Maybe something from within your subconscious that's trying to make itself known.
Have you tried meditating on it? :)

Monday night there was a thunder storm here, in VA Beach. I looooove thunder storms. Oddly, though, it was a very long time before the rain came. I was sitting in my room, bored out of my mind because my monitor broke that morning, and all of a sudden it began to rain. I ran outside to find the that the rain had kicked up a terrible, acrid stench of dirt, worms and something far worse. The rain felt most unpleasant as it pelted my skin, and I had a sudden feeling of utter danger and evil. I ran into the house, frightened and confused.
Confused because I love the rain and the thunder, and nothing ever frightens me. I was so filled with horror and fear, though. It was like nothing I ever experienced before. Of course, neither where the events that happened 8 hours later.

i used to love the snowy owl as a child for no reason.
but i'm most certain my animal is the horse (main animal, anyway)
i just kinda feel that the uneasy feeling i had that day was from the oncoming disasters. i get intuitive alot, but i usually dont know of what or for what...etc... usually i can just figure these things out for myself but there are many times where i need advice or opinions, like now
i discussed this with more people and am pretty much convinced that the feather is just some kind of assurance that everything will be alright, and that i shuld keep it with me for luck, or something....
hehe
i'm really still discovering my intuitive side. i have an older friend helping me out of my ignorance. (i'm a very sheltered and almost closet pagan.) when your parents are agnostic and your roomate is christian, it's kind of difficult not to be private.
(it's all about the written prayers/spells) ;)

I dreamt the night before the disaster that I visited a cemetery in DC. I visted Lincoln's grave on top of a big hill and on the grave itself was a statue of him. It was laying in the fetal positon and I touched it because at first I thought he was sleeping. I realized it was just a statue. Then I began walking around the cemetery with lighted incense sticks, I must have had hundreds of them and I planted them in the ground one by one.
On my way to work the following morning, I had Creedance Clearwater Revival in my head singing "Bad Moon Rising".
Antiquitas,
Your best bet is to pick up a book on animal magick. Or the Animal Wise tarot cards (they rule!) You may get help in the future when you see animals.
Blue jays warn of spiritual attack. I'm sure they mean other things too....that's all I know. :(
I'm always paranoid too. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong. Now everytime I see a damn blue jay, I get nervous. As if I needed another reason to be paranoid. :)

White- peace feather-bird -plane I dunno, just think of the first thing that comes into your head when you take the different components of the Omen eg. what time was it? what were you thinking about at the time? thats what I try and do.
Good luck to you!
