Recently, i've become very interested in Fairys. If anybody has any type of information on them, that would be fabulous. Things like how to make a fairy garden, fairy lore, and different types of fairys would be really cool.
Thanks! :kooky:

You'd be suprised at how much information there really is out there about faeries!! Check your local library and you'll likely be able to find several books on faery lore... Usually the information you seek will find you when you need it most or least expect it. :D

Try Here (http://sacred-texts.com/neu/celt/index.htm#fairies)
Also, Brian Froud's "Faeries" is a wonderful book when it comes to fairy folklore, especially concerning the Devonshire area. Pretty pictures too :toofless:.

so many people doubt their existence, but they are very much real. they come in all shapes and sizes and can be as sweet and lovely as you might imagine, misheivoius, or just downright nasty little hooligans. I've got some great books in my flat, but I cant remember some of the author's names, so I'll get back to you in a couple of days. they've got lots of great info such as fairie types in different countries, how to communicate with them, and how to avoid upsetting them.
word of advise though. fairies will only be seen if they want to be. its on their terms. upset them (this is not a critisism of you, its just that some can get offended by seemingly nice gestures, such as offering clothes) and they'll either disappear for good, or try and mess with your head.
I wont tell you of my own experiences as they're kinda private, but have fun, take care, and I'll send you another post in a couple of day's with the names of those books!

I've seen fairies once and to my knowledge that was the first time I've seen a ghostly object, so it scared me, and I couldn't sleep for years, and I finally had to decide not to worship the spirits(they were spirits I invoked).

I actually found some information online about a "fairy ritual," and i was really excited about it so i tried it. I didn't actually see any fairys, but i really think i felt their presence and it was by far the coolest thing ever. I danced around for a while, and after i was done i felt extremely at peace. It was wonderful. I decided when i was done to go foreging through my kitchen to find something to offer to them, but i couldn't find anything that other ppl had told me fairy's like. so i grabbed a bowel of sugar and mixed in some smelly oil (Jasmine) so that it smelled good. I placed it in front of a mirror and put a sparkly butterfly inside later, and i think they liked it. i've been missing one of my favorite earrings for a while, and as soon as i did that it popped up in a box under the table i had put it on. :kooky: I'm quite happy at this point.

If you can remember the link, can you post it, please?
I like Brian Froud, and also Ennis Tregarthen Pixie Folklore and Legends, which is a collection of Cornish "piskey" stories. Also the Flower Fairies of the Garden, Cicely Mary Barker.
My little brother and I used to make fairy boats all the time and let them go in the creek or in the river. We'd use nuts, shells, leaves, twigs, or even a turtle-shell once. We also built fairy forts and houses in our yard, but those never really lasted long.
I've only seen them once, about 3 or 4 years ago, at a pagan festival with a friend. She saw them too. ^_^
Sorry I don't have any more info.

This site has everything, i've found a gold mine i tell you!
What's a fairy boat, i've never heard of that. I've also started to make a fairy aquirium, it's really fun. I feel like I've found something i can really relate to, and it's great. Tell me if that ritual works for you too. And be sure to do it outside, i tried it inside and though it did work, it didn't work as well as outside would.

Hi, I'm back!!!!!
sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you with the names of those books, but I only got back to my place today (bit of a nomad!)
ok, here goes;
Fairy Spells by claire nahmad. ISBN no; 0 285 634593
all about seeing and communicating with fairies.
Good faeries/Bad faeries by brian froud ISBN no; 1 86205 3022
to do with all things fairy, and my favourite! lots of different types (but mainly english) and totally excellent illustrations.
A complete guide to fairies and magical beings by cassandra eason ISBN No; 0 7499 2162 5 (Pbk)
Loads of fairy stuff;types, legends, etc, plus an A-Z of world fairies.
I also have some fairy oracle cards which I absaloutly love, and find them very useful when communicating. ignore the use of the word 'god' if it doesnt apply to your particular beliefs, and find your own way to use them. (the author actually say's to do this) It took me a while for them to start being really accurate, but now they are amazing!
Healing with the fairies. oracle cards by doreen virtue Ph.D
ISBN 1 56170 785 6
hope this is useful for you. Have fun, and let me know how you get on!
love trip :elf:

you are most welcome, hugbubble,
glad to see there is someone else who adores fairies, too! do you live in the states? see I'm an english chick, and I dont think it matters much but alot of the books I mentioned focuses on british fairies. the book called 'a complete guide to...' talks about world fairies, and alot of them are american or british. (but lets face it,if YOU were a fairy, would you give a damn about borders? no, me neither!)
