Hi! I'm new to this forum, and new to the Pagan community. So new, in fact, I'm just beginning my studies into it and have very little idea of what I'm doing or where it's going to take me yet! I'm 22, from a tiny little conservative town in Montana, and have been, for the last few years, having some doubts about my Christian heritage and upbringing. I've been snoopping on the forum for about a day now, taking my time before writing an intro, and I've noticed a lot of people have come from Christian backgrounds, but have never really felt comfortable with it as a religion, or whatnot. I'm actually a bit different - until just recently, I've been *very* comfortable as a Christian, and as a young teen (maybe 13-15) went through a "listen only to Christian music, read only Christian books" phase that almost makes me cringe now. *laugh* I've grown up a lot, and seen more of the world, and it's opened my eyes considerably to new things, new religions, new thoughts. I've grown from a very conservative teen into a very liberal adult who's beginning to see religion a bit differently, as well. I studied Buddhism for a class about three years ago, and a lot of that struck me as more to my beliefs, but again, it never resonated completely enough with me that I'd ever come close to calling myself Buddhist. Just as now, I've beome very interested in the pagan religions, but have not yet become so taken with it to call myself pagan just yet. :)
However, no matter my ingrained Christian reservations (for alas, I find it more difficult than I'd like to shed that skin) I've come here to study and learn and perhaps see where this road leads. If nothing else comes of my studies, I'll have gained valuable knowledge and perhaps a few friends - but maybe, just maybe, I'll finally find the spirituality and inner peace I'm looking for.
