My question is, how did you choose your god/goddess?
Did you feel connected to your specific one?
Did he/she/they come to you?

My question is, how did you choose your god/goddess?

I didn't.

Did you feel connected to your specific one?

Specific three, and yes, I do. If I did not they would not be the gods meant for me to worship.

Did he/she/they come to you?

Yes, they did.

We found each other. Let's face it; if I didn't know anything about my goddess, how would I know it was her? As time progresses, I get to know her better. She has taught me to grow into being an independent, strong woman.
Athena is my main goddess. However, I have developed a connection with other goddesses as well. I prefer sunny, happy deities such as Maia and Flora. And as my username suggests, I really appreciate the blessings of the Muses and Mnemosyne in my life as well. :heartthro

Did he/she/they come to you?Well, unlike a lot of people, I guess, I feel my deity choices were primarily made by me. Of course, I am very much not Sensitive, so, they could have been leading me to them without my recognizing it. I suddenly took a fascination to cows my sophomore year of HS. (A combination of reading Pied Beauty and doing a report on the artist Rolland Golden). I painted cows all the time after that, and it was my interest in cows that led me first to Krishna, and then to Hathor (yes, I am shamelessly eclectic). So you might even say it was third party intervention. ^_^ It never "hit me" or any flashes of light or anything. Just a "ooh, hi, will you be my friend?"

Yinepu is around, but I didn't choose Him. If anything, He chose me.

However, in Kemetic Orthodoxy our Parent(s) (or patrons I suppose) are somewhat pre-destined, seeing as they created us.. (These are our beliefs, atleast :) )

I don't yet know who my Parent is. Waiting to finish the beginner's course and get divined.. this will be very exciting :D :abanana:

I am one of those Pagans who is very cautious about approaching a specific deity for anything really, before recently my focus was very much on the generic God and Goddess and they are still a significant part of my spirituality. However a couple of months ago someone did make herself rather known in my life ;) I definitely feel connected to her and she has changed my view on Life and introduced me to so much. Initially it was as if we were curious about each other. I can recall the energy of that time and I remember that I was still hesitant about making that final step to embracing my Goddess but then we both realised that it was fate.

Namaste, Gede...

Even way back when I was a child I guess I knew. I would draw pictures of them and talk to and ask questions of them. This was kinda bad since I did K – 8 in a Catholic school and the nuns would notice what a bad little heretic I was. When I decided to not be Catholic I tried to force feed myself Celtic gods, since I’m Irish, and practiced Wicca. It just never settled. It all worked out eventually.

So I guess I didn’t really choose them since the were always there

And that I do feel connected to them since I was drawing them as a child
