Recently I've read an article in a newspaper that told about incences and other fragrance-spreading devices could cause cancer. The others included devices from some bigger companies we know here in Holland which, I presume, dont have a "construction method/use of materials/use of fragrances and how to make them" that is very different from (for instance) US companies creating the same devices.

What do you people think about this?
I have no link regarding the article, and if i'd found it it would be in Dutch, but i'll go and try to find it now anyway. Still. These people mentioned very clearly that Incense could be a cause of cancer.

They were talking about churches. I think it was in the context of the kind of places where you're in a solid cloud of incense smoke - I've seen similar research from Thailand.

Personally I'm not too fussed about it, common sense is the best guide, if you're in a cloud of smoke of whatever sort, it's not going to be too good for you.

But it's a good link if you ever want to post something like "Church is bad for your health"!

seriously, though, i'd try as best as possible to stick to high quality incense, or make your own.

cancer is caused by 'free radicals' you have them in your body caused by many things 'carsagens' in smoke, overcooked food, excess meat.... are some of the things that make them.Beta-carotene in many vegetables such as carrots destroy free radicals.

I think too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

I heard about this too. I heard somewhere it could even be worse than second hand smoke.

*shrugs*

I like my incense and I won't stop burning it...

I think any kinda of excess smoke is not good for the lungs. As far as cancer goes? Who knows? They say even Vitamin C in excessive doses causes cancer. You never know anymore :twitch:
