No seriously, in classics Deborah was really nice and gave us each a greek dieties persona. I am Dionysus. Now next monday I have to dress up as him and give a speach as to who he is, some feats he did, what he is god of and so on and so forth. Anyone know how I can dress up as Dionysus?

Carry around a bunch of grapes too! I seem to remember a cartoon version of him...in 'Fantasia' I believe. He was this kind of round man that was quite tipsy, though it makes sense being the god of wine and all. ;)

a greek god? Kind? LMAODionysus came back to earth and tricked his aunt (who murdered his mother) into killing his half brother. Ripping his head off and then mocked her in her suffering. Greek gods are viscious and love revenge.

Googled up images of dionysus for you ... these were the ones that were clean. Got to love gods of altered consciousnesses and parties ;)

and who forces his aunt to tear off his cousens head.

Yeah now for a girl to dress up as dionysus. Gonna have to alter the toga somewhat...

Sometimes he wears the skin of a cat, but not a lion because that's Heracles. It's one of the spotted cats.... See this picture (http://www.greekmythology.com/Other_Gods/Dionysus/dionysus4.jpg)

He also has a staf with a pinecone at the top......

I like Dionysys, he spoke to me once when drunk..........:D

Hey I'll read it if you want to PM it to me, I took classics my freshmen year at UW-Madison. So, lay it on me!

Ideas for dressing up...maybe you could wear the female version of the toga, with the cloth down the front and brooches at the shoulders. I believe it's called a chiton. I'm going to try to find a picture and link it for you...but most statues of Greek Goddesses are dressed in this fashion. You could then wear bunches of grapes in your hair, and carry a goblet or a staff with a pine cone on top.

Not kind as in nice. I said 'kind of a round man,' which means sort of: 'sort of a round man.' I know the Greek gods were not very, erm, kind.

You're welcome...if you have to go around in one all day, my only suggestion would be that you wear the proper undergarments. :holycow: I don't think they did back in the day...but people might get uncomfortable. Oh man, I'm so just kidding, it should be a lot of fun. I dressed up in Renaissance garb for a thing at school one day, and it was a blast! So, have fun.

LMAO. Ok, maybe I shall get dressed in roman garb just before the lesson. I may freeze otherwise. Oh well I'll do something, even if it is only some grapes and mead. My classics class is gonna die :graduate: :shhhh: And I will have fun. Renaissance sounds cool. I love that style of clothing.
