Hi all!
I noticed that when i'm doing tarot exercises I keep attributing the fire suit and qualities to swords and all the air suit and qualities to wands. So i thought i would try to find a deck that goes with that. Can anyone give me some suggestions? :hmmmmm:
Thanks everyone! :heartthro

I do the same, with my normal Rider-waite deck. I thought I was the only one! o_O

The celtic dragon tarot deck has thoes associations. D.J Conway prefers that interperitation so it might be in the shapeshifter tarot deck as well but I only know of the celtic dragon tarot.

The Witch's tarot-it's orange on the outside and is made for a Wiccan/Pagan person with fire-swords, air-wands.
Also Dorothy Morrison's Whimsical Tarot

I own the Shapeshifter deck and YES--Swords are fire in that deck, as well.

I personally won't use a deck that isn't swords-fire and wands-air. It is said that the Golden Dawn intentionally switched these around to swords-air and rods-fire to fool regular folk and retain the real tarot secrets. I had to get in touch with my inner self on this and swords to me are definitely the color red of blood and forged in fire. Fire is battle, and blood and passion and swift speed. Air is wands-tree branches blowing in the wind. Air is the voicing of verbal incantations-air-logic-waving the magic wand in the air. Plus wood burns and should not be associated with fire. All original wands were made of wood and the wording of spells in under the element air.

You know that threw me off when I first took a tarot class and the teacher said air = sword and fire = wand. I had read it the other way because for the longest time I was using the witche's tarot. I had to unlearn it and relearn the other way. Now I usually get it mixed up and interpret it depending on the situation.

You know--it doesn't matter which deck I use--I always just makes wands/air and swords/fire ... I'm the reader, darn it all. I can make it anything I want...so there

well good for you, I personally find it confusing to have to adjust swords to air but tarot to me isn't a natural gift. I find it a thick layer of wisdom and at times inpenetrable...who the heck is Rick anyway

Rick the Runesinger--he's also a member on here... my mate--who got me addicted to this site.
Do a search on runes or scrying mirrors and you'll find him.

So when you use Swords as Fire and Wands as Air, do you switch the meanings of the cards - so, for example, the 2 of Wands would now have the standard meaning of the 2 of Swords? If not, how do you handle the switch?

My Witches tarot came with a little booklet of meanings. Those were the ones i used for a while. I now sort of read swords like standard air definitions when I use any other deck than my witches tarot, I switch back to those booklet meanings when I use the witches.

2 of Wands is 2 of wands--no matter what deck I use...same as Swords.
I use the meaning that goes with the card--but also that is tempered with the question asked and the other cards surrounding it.
Not sure if that explanation makes sense...it just how I read and how I've always read.
I've only had one person unhappy with her reading...and that was because I couldn't tell her what business she should go into to make $3K/mo and not have to work...just collect the money. People may not like what they hear sometimes, but I tell what it is they need to hear...and I think they respect that. I tend not to sugar coat it, either. I'm not doing them any favors if I do.
