Dreams of Hauntings???

Ok... what's up with this? for the past two nights in a row I have dreamed of being "haunted" in some way. The first night I dreamed that any and every electronic item in my home would turn on, start up, run, etc even without being plugged in or without batteries.. however, even people who were with me when they'd turn on would just say "must have been the cat." or somehting to that effect.
Then last night... I dreamed that i woke to voices talking in my bedroom... i opened my eyes and even though there wasn't really any light in the room, I could make out faces and shapes of people moving around the room. Some were friendly and kind others were grotesque in appearance and attitude. they'd literally get up in my face and yell at me about things that I had nothing to do with... like how their motherinlaw griped about their ordering pizza for some kid's party... they'd gang up on me... hold me down on the bed and yel and carry on... the "nice" ones would stand around very quietly saying "oh let her be. she can't help you. dont be so mean, now" but they only sounded like they were reading lines and had no real emotion.
Are ghosts actually bothering me in my sleep? (i've been seeing glimpses of hair, an arm... a foot as if just turning or walking out of sight a LOT lately too....) and if so.. why me?
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

It seems like the answers are right there, but I simply can't put a finger on it. I'll try to get back to you, if I find something. But mediumship came to mind, but I cannot say that I am sure about this.

do you ever ask these spirits questions or converse with them in any way? Do you recognize any of them? Has anything strange besides sightings happend in your home?

I think of spirit communication also. I'm wondering have you worked with talking to spirits or ghosts at all? I'd put more protections up before you go to bed even if it is a dreamcatcher that you put up with the intent to protect you and keep away bad dreams. There are two schools I 've heard, one is ignore them and try to keep them out and the other is to talk to them and find out what they want. I like the second in moderation. Spirits seem to know if you can hear them, perhaps some have msgs for you, or perhaps they just want someone to listen. If you haven't worked with them much perhaps it is a new gift opening up.

Actually, yes. There are knocks all the time here. Always at the same time of day and night. Sometimes there's old music or music that I can't pinpoint but that's very soothing and beautiful.
Other times I hear someone say my name. sometimes 'sarah' (my given name) or Elfa.
When my husband is home alone... someone bangs on the door and "things" (as he puts it) happen and usually by the time i get home (even being only a half hour gone) I find him unnerved and outside even in the cold of winter.
Just so you know, every year I do a huge protection spell around our property (there's a cemetary less than a block from us) that my sister gave me. It used to work really well, but lately, no dice.
Once, I had lost a little plastic cigarette box, the kind to roll your own cigs up and store them in. Then a few days later it dropped in front of me and i heard, very clearly "I'm Bill. Tell them I see them."
that afternoon, i asked my husband who Bill was. He said the only Bill he knew was the girls' grandfather (their birth mother's dad) and that he'd been a nice guy.
I told him he was here and that he said he can see them. Hubby went a little pale and told me that the guy was dead... and more pale when i told him that i knew that, and hadn't seen him myself, but that he'd found my box and told me who he was and to tell "them" that he could see them.

To Shaman: Actually, when I was very little, I used to "talk to friends" all the time.
but as I got older it became harder and harder to hear them or see them. the 'gift' left me completely about five years ago, when my Mom crossed over. I think partly because I didn't want to see her as a spirit. Not out of fear... just... well.. that one's a long story.
Anyway... I'm willing to try to communicate with them again now. but I don't know how I used to do it, so I'm not sure how to do it again. You know?
Why would those spirit hold me down though? I would have listened without being held down. and they were so angry!! they kind of had a dull greenish/yellow, sickly-looking glow to their faces and hands... the three at the foot of the bed had a more golden/blue-ish glow and seemed much nicer even if their attempts at calming the others down were rather lame and ineffectual.

Anyway, what do I do now? I had another dream.... I was in the chicken coop gathering eggs and the doors slammed shut and then rattled and banged like crazy. the light blinked on and off like a strobe almost and I heard howls and yips like coyotes outside.
I don't recall feeling scared... nor angry.. just really really confused as to why they were doing this to me. Who are these people??? and what the heck did I do to tick them off this much???

You should try asking them those questions then. That's all I can say.

Definately talk to them and I'd do more protections. Spirits are like people. Perhaps some of those bothering you are just trying to scare you to scare you, perhaps they see you as someone else. In any case I'd put up more protection. I've heard of something good where you put dirt in a jar and close the lid and make the intent no bad spirit can enter before counting the specks, with the jar lid they are not supposed to be able to count them.

Other idea, light a white candle and call your guides and set up a circle and protections. I'd get out some whisky or something and pour a glass and state your intent that you don't mind spirits about and do want to communicate but they are not welcome if they are going to try to scare you or are not going to be nice so to say. Offer them the glass of alcohol in a peace offering and say if they need help or want to communicate you are willing to do so but only if they do it in a positive way. I've heard of people who do this and offer them some alcohol and they quiet right down. Another person I knew the spirit was trapped in their basement and to appease him she just leaves some alcohol in the basement for it and took a door of its hinges.

Number one thing protection and find out what they want by asking them.

it could be that they come to you through dreams as this is the path of least resistance for them. maybe subconciously you have put up blocks that stop them coming through when your awake.. you may also find that once you acknowledge their presence they will stop.. this happens with me.. a friend of mine that passed on used to come around from time to time and he would play with my stereo until i said hello then he was happy and would stop.. if i didnt say hi he would start giving me chills till i did... he watched over me when he was alive and continued to do so after he passed.. he hasnt been around for a long time now.. i guess he knows i am happy now and he doesnt need to watch over me anymore..
