He didn't declare war or say they'd retaliate against the countries, tho he said they won't make a distinction between the attacker and the countries that harbour him/her/them.

Yay, no war!!!! (well, so far)

His speech wasn't that good in my opinion...

Oh, incidentally, are you seeing this address by this archbishop, letting us know that he thinks we should pray to whatever higher powers we know? He says "light a candle" and "see the hope that is in that light" too.

That's partly, I'm sure, because they can't say who is responsible yet. But what about after? I hate to say it, but I think the US will want to make an example out of them. And I can't say that I disagree with that, no disrespect to those who have pacifist views. But I don't think that is the first priority now. Rescue first and foremost.

I think Bush did his best to reassure us that we will not lie down and take this. He can't really tell us what we are going to do specifically, since we aren't absolutely sure who we are up against.

I think Bush did fine, all things considered. He wasn't out to give us any information or make predictions. He did his best to reassure the American people that he and the government are doing their best right now, and for Americans not to panic.

Just think of all of the people out there who might, tomorrow, try to drain their bank account or flee the country out of fear.

It's all really quite frightening.

nothing will be the same now, not ever again. my boyfriend called me before i left work today and told me to fill up on gas, just in case, plus we went to the supermarket to get some bottled water, the stores are nearly out, and who knows when the stores will get delivery of fresh goods, depends on how long ny is closed down for.

True. I'm scared, and I don't know how I'm sitting here typing right now. I'm getting the shakes every time the air force flies over.
Brrrr.

A new address this morning.. as well, it's been stated that 700 tips have come up as to the perpetrators... and that Bush considers the terrorists acts "acts of war"...
