Dream Skills and Talents

I was just wondering, I have had many dreams in my life in which I could breathe under water. these were exceptionally cool and happy dreams and I look forward to having them... I have also occasionally dreamt that I could fly, well not exactly fly, but more hover and defy gravity. I was wondering what sorts of skills/talents/abilities that others have dreamed they have and what you make of the meanings behind these kinds of dreams?

I have always kinda thought that the underwater breathing ones were just sort of a wish, but the flying ones always seemed like a sense that I was, or needed to, take control of some situation in my life, cause for me, these flying episodes always occurred in a dream in which I was battling some huge foe and was hurled off a building and WOWWEE wouldn't ya know it? I don't fall to my death LOL.

Well, I'm not exactly sure if I can do this in real life as I've never really strived to excerise it. I've had a dream in which I was a professor at a college and it was the end of a class period. One student was handing me their work and asked me to read their stuff. I looked at it for a few seconds and said, "I'll read it later" and gave it back to them. Later on in the dream I recalled sitting in what was supposedly my living room and reading the paper using photographic memory.

In other dreams, I acted as a medium, relaying messages from the living to the dead to people I didn't even know. But I never really witnessed any of this happening to me in real life. The only thing "psychic' I get is that sometimes I think thoughts and express them and someone would say, "I was going to say the same exact thing!" or vice versa. :whatmewor

I've dreamed I was breathing underwater lots of times. It's usually pretty cool, because in my dream I'm telling myself I shouldn't be able to breathe...then I take a breath and I can, so I enjoy swimming around... I don't get to fly much in mine, not sure why, as it's the #1 ability I'd have IRL if I could.

I forget what it's technicaly called, but I would love to have the ability to touch something and know it's history. I've also always thought that some kind of ability to make people tell the truth would solve alot of problems in the world, so that would be cool too.... kinda like wonderwoman's lasso.

That would be cool! I didn't even think of that in this thread, the question of what talent you would really like to have (rather than one you have dreamt about)! I think mine, although really being able to fly or breath underwater would be in the top 5, would be to be able to rewind time, like superman! Could you imagine being able to go back and say, NOPE, that didn't work, let's try this? I know, I know, all those horrible paradoxes and ethical questions would arise....like if you could go back and kill Hitler would you? And if you did, what other horrible thing/person might take his place? But in the words of Johnny's doctor in The Dead Zone "Hell Yes! I'd killl the sonofabitch." :uzi:

Would love to be able to live in space. Just fly from one solar system to the next. Do that occasionally in my dreams.
