I was wondering what people think about this? I know for a fact that what steps major cities have taken has even been hidden from local citzens, not for long though, but we in DFW hear nothing about other cities except from our families.
So what major or national news are they hiding from us? I understand not wanting to cause panic but what about our right to know? Should we share what is going on in our home towns so we at least have another outlet of information? Or should we assume that we should keep our noses out of each other's preparations and concerns?

Call me paranoid, but I never feel I'm getting "the full, unbiased story" from the news of whatever source. :ugh:
If everyone is committed to sticking only the truths that they themselves have witnessed, then I think exchange of information can be a good thing. It's when we get into passing along stories we heard from a neighbour about their second cousins ex-girlfriend's aunt's best friend that we can get into trouble. :bug: ;)
Thank you for posting this question/issue. I think it's one to be aware of.
Just my 2 cents,

Incidentally, near this topic... they state now that it's possible that the passengers of the last plane prevented it from hitting it's intended target... http://www.msnbc.com/news/627214.asp

And I am eternally grateful to those people, whoever they are. My son works on for a congressman on Capitol Hill--consensus of opinion seems to be that the plane might have been heading for the Capitol--they hit the ecomonic center, the military center, and the capitol dome is a potent symbol of the government center. I hope we do find out more, I'd like to know who to thank........

I think we went a little off topic here. :)
To get it back on, this is exactly what I'm talking about. The only reason we have heard these stories is because the passengers' families have spoken to the press about it. I've heard in some cases they were pressured into it but I think the press in getting desperate for more info. I think they are also paying pretty pennies to people who are leaking things from the congressional offices after thier briefing.
