Sorry, I didn't recognize the name (doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong, just that I didn't recognize it).

In the Elder Futhark, it's called Kenaz. It means 'torch'. Kenaz corresponds with the element Fire. It is a Rune of energy & passion. In a reading, it might indicate the things that motivate or inspire you; that is, the 'inner fire'. Kenaz is a Rune of enlightenment, both spiritual or intellectual. In my personal experience, it often comes up for people who are thinking about continuing their education in some way. Kenaz is also associated with Freya, the Norse/Germanic Goddess of Love (OK, she's probably more rightly the Goddess of Passion & Pleasure, but I guess Love is close enough).

Does that help?

I too call it Kenaz.. and we will be covering this rune soon in our discussions.
Can I ask why you would like to know about it?

In my set it's called ken and refers to a dominant person, knowledge, or spiritual enlightenment, or that the querent should turn to his or her own inner knowledge.

Willow Raven, I'm curious as to your source... book, website, etc. I'd be interested in checking it out...

PS I've ordered a (relatively) new Rune book by Bernard King from amazon.com. I'll keep you posted...

Rick : I'm referring to a book I got with my set of runes, called The Runes by Horik Svensson.
