If you do, do you use it for cleaning the space before a ritual, set it in a corner for looks because you just like them, ride it (lol,jk) or other? What does yours look like, the traditional or just a regular broom from wal-mart?

I have a broom.... I use it to cleanse my space, and it looks cute in the corner. Its a ragamuffin type broom, I recieved it as a gift and then made some to sell. Its a regular corn broom, covered with fabric scraps. I love it. Its different :)

Many.
My pride and joy is the 8 foot natural besom I found at Big Lots with the fall decorations last year. Flar laughed at me because I could barely get it into the car. I put lights on it at Yule. It's a symbol of what I am, and all of my besoms are charged with protecting us.
The first one I made hangs in my bedroom. It is made from willow that was graciously dumped in my yard by a storm. I have used it to clean my altar space and create circle and it has incredibly powerful energy.
Our handfasting besom hangs in the kitchen.
Our house besom hangs in the kitchen.
The house besom at my other house resides in my home office and lies across the threshold if my son will be gone for any long period of time. It protected the house even when the lock was broken.
One of those standard wisk brooms hangs on the porch near the front door, kind of like the Jewish mezzuzah.
There's a cinnamon broom on the porch at my other house, same purpose.
Another lies under my son's bedroom window, the weakest safety point in the house.
Another on the sill in front bedroom of this house.
One in the rear window of my car. Flar jokes that "Most people carry a spare tire - my baby carries her broom!"
When I really feel in need of protection, I will touch one and say, "Besom, guard thine own."
So, how many is that - I've never counted til now.......

Last year was the only time I ever saw them - and I wasn't leaving without it! I'll get a pic and post it for y'all later.
It's on a bamboo stick and the brush is made from natural materials. I had planned to decorate it, but it's beautiful just as is.
I love the ones you can get at Wal-Mart around Samhain with the kids' Halloween costumes. They have that wonderful, old-fashioned round brush. That's the kind I have in my car, and I even think I have one or two stashed somewhere

i have two.
our handfasting besom is mounted over the front door. it's a raw and simple looking thing, very traditional. the yarrow flowers have long since faded, but the love is still there. :)
the other is another natural broom, although it looks far more modern than our handfasting besom. this one is a bit bigger too, and we use it to 'cleanse' the garden circle before rirtual (although any actual sweeping of dirt and stuff is done beforehand, with a regular mundane broom).

I have a regular broom for physical cleaning, although when I sweep my house I am sweeping it with intention. I also have a rustic looking broom made by a local craftsman. It has a real branch handle and straw like bristles. DH gave it to me as gift and it hangs on the wall for protection and decoration. We jumped over it for our wedding.

i have several wicker type ones, they are all are small type. i use to have a large one but it feel apart because the handle broke. i use mine to cleanse an aerea before rituals or whenever I feel the need to use it.
If all goes well in the next week i will be able to order Broom corn to start making my own brooms, and well actually first one for a member here, then a larger one for me.

I have a regular floor-sweeping broom, but I no longer have a magick broom. I used to have a cinnamon one that I loved, but it left me. :( Now I can't find them anywhere.
Hopefully next year will bring me a broom.

Blunt's cool! I also suffer from foot in mouth disease _twohorns_
Anyway.
I have a besom/broom/sweeping stick that's handmade. It's made from ash twigs bound together to from small bumdles, then the bundles are bound together into a rough broom. I would eventually like to create a better one from real broom corn, but that'll come with time.
I use it every time I cast a full formal circle or need to do some spiritual house cleaning. It however is too fragile to stand up to much so I will often use a regular house broom for the latter task - but with intention.

Well although it's too late in the season I looked for those brooms in Wal-mart when we went grocery shopping today andfound nothing. No leftovers from fall in the fake flower or the craft sections. Found nothing to make one either. There are no craft stores or occult stores local so I will either have to order onle online already made or order the stuff online to make my own. Know of a good Pagan craft store online? And how would I make my own? I did find an online store The Magickal Cat that sold a few ready made ones. I saw beautiful seasonal ribbon in walmart to decorate it with. That wide ribbon with the wire in it for large bows for wreaths and such that would be great.

I have one, completely made out of stuff from where I live. The handle made out of cypress wood and the bristles are made out of palmetto leaves. On my land we have lots of cypress trees and palmetto bushes, so it worked out great.

I have one that belonged to my grandmother. Its about 2 1/2 feet long and I decorated it myself with ribbons, pinecones and crystals and it just hangs in my dining room for protection.
