I'm watching CNN, and the Empire State Bldg. has been
evacuated, and Penn Station has been shut down.

I think these are good precautions to take. I don't know if any more bombings are coming, but we really should be on the lookout for a time.

Perhaps this is because more buildings... wait, I was just going to say that maybe it's because more buildings might be ready to collapse, but the Empire State Building is no where near the site of the WTC. ?? Are they evacuating more areas of Manhattan Island?

They had bomb threats at the Empire State building, thats why they shut it down.

sadly enough at times like this some wackos get a kick out of making threats just to see if buidlings will be evacuated. At least we can only hope it is the work of some nutjob watching the news and nudging his buddies as they watch the buildings get evacuated. I know after the OKC bombing several places got prank "threats". Sad but true. however we do have to take every precaution to prevent further destruction and tragedy.

no, i don't think they will try this tactic again soon but this is not the first attack and will not be the last. i prefer not to share my pet nightmares with you but i can think of half a dozen ways to wipe out a small town "on the cheap" without even getting into nuclear toys, just using what's already there. they have proven that they can strike at our "centers of power" and know we will be guarding against another like attempt so the next attempt will be a different tactic. look, next time for an attempt out in "pick-up truck country", the heartland, where they will try to demonstrate that they can strike anywhere. too our canadian friends and neighbors do well to treat this as a common threat as they may decide to "punish" our friends in futile hopes of frightening you from our side.

i live about 5 miles from a nuclear power plant, night before last we had an "unauthorised aircraft" reported in our area. within moments i heard the roar of a military jet fighter (they do not sound like any commercial aircraft!) at low altitude pass over my house vectoring in on the area reported. all was well, just "some people just don't get the word" and/or don't think it applies to them until "land immediately or be shot down" comes over the unicom channel. our defense forces are not screwing around anymore if they ever did.
