Ok I'm usually really good at interpreting my own dreams, but this is beyond me.

I was in a room of mirrors with a bunch of people, and there was this bird. I don't know what type of bird it was. It was about the size of a cat and had maybe a 3 foot wingspan, and I remember thinking in the dream that it was NOT a phoenix. The bird touched a candle and caught on fire but nobody would do anything about it, just watch. Before I turned away I saw the fire in its feathers (you know when you make a fire and it burns down to just pulsating embers? That's what it looked like). I was freaking out because nobody was helping the bird. After it was done burning we all got spraybottles and tried to cool it down by squirting it. (!?)

Anyways, the overall emotion of the dream was distress that the bird was in pain.

Any ideas?

That definately is an interesting dream, I'll say that.

I have no idea what it could mean though.

Ok, here's my guess. Birds may generally symbolize freedom and rising above common matter. Fire represents passion sometimes. So in the dream, this freedom was destroyed by passion of some kind. There was a halfhearted effort to quench the flames after it was too late. So maybe the dream was symbolic of you being too involved in passions of some kind, perhaps involving other people. The mirrors were there so you could look at yourself and see what you're doing. Maybe you're sacrificing some sort of freedom or deciding to not rise above common matters by remaining with a certain group of people. I don't know.

Or maybe it means you're going to a barbecue soon.

Ok I was thinking the same thing about the mirrors as self reflection. however fire is not just passion, it is also drive, anger, and purification(though all the eliments have their own version of it). I am curious as to how you view the people in the room before this happened. If you knew them at all. I also agree that the bird could be freedom, but i wasn't really there. :p
