i dreamt this one last night,
i rember there was alot of running through a jungle, from some kind of horribly disfigured bear/alligator thing, when I come to a waterfall and check for a cave behind it sure enough there is so i hide there from it when i hear singing in the back of the cave,
so i proceed to the back wondering what it is, when i see it is my x girlfreind (the one ive only ever actually loved) and she says "come lay down with me" so we end up sleeping together and she kills me as i am falling asleep with a knife in the side.

anyone?

My guess would be that there are some repressed emotions at play here, which are manifesting in your dream.

Running away could signify that you haven't dealt with these emotions. The disfigured bear/alligator probably symbolises the emotions you're trying to run away from, and that by the way they look (scary type animals/disfigured), you are scared to face them - consciously or subconsciously. Fear of the unknown is natural in humans, and repression is one of the most common causes of dreams like this.

I would guess that the jungle has some significance as well. Unknown territory, hidden dangers? The waterfall with the cave behind it offers some sanctuary - hiding from the beast that is chasing you (or your emotions catching up with you etc). The cave, like most "rooms" in dreams could easily represent your subconscious. Hiding in here is your ex-girlfriend, who obviously stirs up some emotions for you and I would guess is the source of the dream and your emotional state.

You want her in some ways, but by the fact she kills you, you are perhaps scared of her...But more likely I'd say it's not necessarily her, it's the emotions she stirs (or has stirred) up in you, which you see as potentially damaging to you. She is just the physical representation of all that. Even if your break-up wasn't that painful at the time, or a long time has passed and you feel you've dealt with it, the brain can do odd things...well, that's just my two cents. I hope it helps.

I think the creature represents the reality of a situation that you are trying to run from instead of deal with.. maybe at this point in time its too difficult to face or maybe you just dont want to.. the fact that your ex kills you after you sleep with her could mean that if you dont turn and face the creature/situation and deal with things it could cause some emotional damage to the point that you are emotionally dead inside.. it may not necessarily be in regards to your ex gf it could be any situation but it seems like it is something that needs to be addressed. My impression of the elements follows along the same lines presented by the previous posts.

i rember there was alot of running through a jungle, from some kind of horribly disfigured bear/alligator thingYou are running from an issue that is troubling you. This doesn't have to be a deep onerous issue either. Something as simple as wanting to avoid visiting with family for the holidays can grow into a monster in your dream. If you believe the theory that dreams are a way of the subconscious bringing issues into your forethought, then it would naturally beef up the imagery to get your attention. Just review the stresses you were feeling around the 19th.

when I come to a waterfall and check for a cave behind it sure enough there is so i hide there from it when i hear singing in the back of the cave,
so i proceed to the back wondering what it is, when i see it is my x girlfreind (the one ive only ever actually loved) and she says "come lay down with me" so we end up sleeping together You find a nice secure spot away from the monster. Easy enough since by now your body is reacting to the terror of the first image and your mind reacts by finding a way to calm you. The cave behind the waterfall is one of the natural hiding spots your mind has collected for a jungle scenario. The girlfriend which you identify as your first love is the comfort element. Making love cycles the fear away.

she kills me as i am falling asleep with a knife in the side. This is just re-introducing the pain you felt when losing the first love. Coming away from the joy of lovemaking, your mind instinctively reaches the rational point that this person is no longer a part of your life. Ouch! the pain hits.

As always, I apply my standard caveat for dream interpretation: it could be as I interpret things, or it may have been indigestion :colorful:

wow thank you everyone!

i think the dream has to do with her recent intrest in me, the monster i guess would be my feelings for her and also the fact that sometimes i think it would just be easier to tell her to leave me alone (just cant seem to do it because I know it would hurt her alot)
but i guess also what its trying to say is unless i do something i could end up hurting alot worse than last time i was with her.

my second guess is the monster is smoking, recently ive been trying to quit smoking, I cannot seem to get the hell away from them no matter how i try, I will not even have cigarretts but somehow end up smoking anyways. also i noticed the more I change the more my x also seems to be more interested , now I think she didnt really like the "old" me but now that things have changed she sure pays alot of attention to me. this could be how i see it as a double cross in the dream. also when i decided to not hold back any emotions with her while we were dating i felt safe( ie the cave) but that saftey is quickly removed in dream and reality, i think my brain just fears her lol (cant really blame it!)

so thats my 2 cents on this after all the wonderful insight! thank you again everyone who posted!

recently ive been trying to quit smoking, I cannot seem to get the hell away from them no matter how i try, I will not even have cigarretts but somehow end up smoking anyways. Thankfully I have never smoked but people I know who have quite have struggled many times. If you haven't already, consult your doctor. Many of my friends that tried the gums, patches, etc. weren't able to quit without the help of prescription drugs.

so thats my 2 cents on this after all the wonderful insight! thank you again everyone who posted! I think you have a good start on understanding the messages in the dream. Good luck on the effort to stop smoking.

apple juice is good for getting rid of cravings and lollipops are good for giving you something to do with your hands when your hanging for a ciggy.. Blessed Be ~Morrigan~
