When I wake up from dreaming-I see spirits in my room

Hey all...I'm not sure exactly where to post this, so I apologize if it's in the wrong category. I usually dream in the morning before I wake up, but several times I have woken up from a dream to see a spirit of some sort in my room watching me sleep. It has happened twice now, but it's been a different spirit each time. The first time I was dreaming about a guardian of some sort, keeping me safe as I slept and I woke up to see what I think is an angel watching me. He had on a white suit jacket and reddish hair that was in focus, but his face was out of focus. A few mornings ago I was having a dream that wasn't really a spiritual dream (it was about a cute guy off tv lol!) and I woke up to see another male spirit with a mischevious grin on his face-he had shoulder length wavy brown hair and I think he was wearing animal skins of some sort. Both times they have disappeared before I could get a good look at them. I felt like the first spirit is a guardian of mine, but I have no clue who the second one was. Do you think I'm having out-of-body experiences or something? I have been having a reacurring dream about a hawk that has been protecting me-I even named him a Native American sounding name in my dream and I kinda feel like the hawk is linked to this second spirit I've seen. Any theories on what could be going on would be greatly appriciated! :-) Thanks so much!!!!

If you were dreaming of something vividly enough to remember it and then you awaken forma lucid dream to physically see a "spirit", I would think that was important. Maybe the spirit is a physical manifestation of the guide you dreamed of, as some poeple really have to work that way in order to fire off with conviction.

I would think if you tried to become more comfortable with the idea of these visits and welcome them, you will find out a lot about yourself.

i think that you've acquired two guides - a soul guide/serious guardian & a mischievious guide - who is activating your innerchild.
the first could be in your fire element (for his flaming hair & his protective qualities, also therefore, with the qualities of transformation & initiation into the deeper mysteries) & the second in air (the hawk is a glider of the skies & ruled by this element) air is the power of the intellect & mental powers in general but also in this case i would say the power of freedom & weightlessness (ie the opposite of earthbound practical matters)

Semele~ Thank you for your post! I'm definately trying to get more used to seeing these spirits-I think I've handled seeing this second one better than the first. It's really strange because I get nervous about all this and have a tough time sleeping because its pretty wild waking up and seeing faces looking at me lol At the same time though, I felt relieved when I saw the second one because I don't want them to leave me. I need to quit being a wimp! ;)

acqualupa~ I never thought about the first guide being related to Fire! It makes perfect sense though-what you said about his protective qualities, and the qualities of transformation & initiation into the deeper mysteries. This spirit was the one who led me to Paganism. I am not completely sure what the second one is telling me....it took years before I knew that the first one was trying to lead me to Paganism!! I have the feeling that he's trying to teach me different ways of coping with life's difficulties. Thank you soooo much for your help!!! Sometimes it's difficult to see the common links in symbolism when it's your own situation. ;)

I see spirits too (whatever time of the day) and I would say that when you're in that just-waking state you're generally a lot more relaxed and open to sensing these kinds of energies - your critical mind doesn't butt in and tell you what you're seeing isn't there, and your senses aren't cluttered with worries about bills or what you need to pick up at safeway for dinner.

However, seeing them around you doesn't mean they're 'guides' necessarily - they may have just been passing through and lingered, and you caught sight of them. Spirits are attracted (in my experience) to people who can sense them; they like the attention and the interaction with the 'real' world, positive or negative.

Either way, in my experience we rarely gain insight into who these spirits are or what they wanted when you saw them (if anything), unless they want us to know. Just open yourself up to them and let new experiences happen :) As ever, I'm available for PM whenever you need a chat :)
