Just a note of thanks for all the thoughts & prayers of the international community.
I cried like a baby when I heard that the Coldstream Guard played The Star Spangled Banner at the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (I'mkinda misty as I'm writing this).

We are all part of the main. The day of the nation state is long gone.. this happened to all of us... and it will take all of us to find the answer to the questions... why did this happen and what can we do to ensure it doesn't happen again? We are all part of the same planet. bb talamh

I've received phone calls from friends in Australia and England personally calling me to make sure I was ok and show their support for the US. That coupled with all I've heard and seen here in New York, first hand is so very touching. Thanks for standing behind America, WE APPRECIATE AND LOVE YOU ALL FOR IT!!
And PS, we WILL rebuild bigger and stronger then before!

Rick that was very nice of you & everyone else.
Im writting through teary eyes now too.
We had 3 minutes silence this morning at 11 and everything came to a stand still (traffic everywhere apparently) which I though was incredible and touched me deeply. I silently cried throughout the 3 mins holding hands in a circle with my yoga group. & after everyone departed without saying much if anythign at all.
We here are truely deeply heart broken, astonished and totally amazed at the horrific tragedy that was inflicted on your country on Tuesday. We feel so helpless and wish we could help more than offering our support from accross the seas.
I would like to thank all your firefighters everywhere travelling and helping with the chaos. Its incredible.
Love to everyone, especially those directly effected by these evil acts.
Love and Peace

Wow, that picture struck an odd chord with me...
...never forget, never forgive...
???
I can't say I agree with that.

i'm sorry if that last made you uncomfortable emerald but that's the warrior speaking. this is what i'm saying;
"Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm -- or never be capable of harming -- you or yours again."
it's a lesson we've forgotten over the years and one we must now relearn or see more innocents helplessly murdered.

May the Lady and Lord bless everyone that has come to the aid and support of the United States and most importantly the victims of these terrorist acts. All of you have my heartfelt gratitude and blessings.
As a descendant of a patriot who fought for this country's founding and a proud daughter of this nation, I am thankful for your aid to us.
To those that seem to believe that the United States has been weakened by this tragedy, I have only this to say, you have made a grave mistake. We warned you and told you "Don't tread on me." The United States will most likely be leading the hunt for you, and this will be a world wide hunt. I hope that the gods will have mercy on you, I suspect that none of will.
Gunner, thank you for those pics. I'll be posting them up on my website that I'm building.

But I pray for mercy only to lose innocent lives lost already due to this tragedy and their families. May no mercy come for those who caused this.

Canadians - and I mean practically the entire nation! - stopped to observe 3 minutes of silence in honour of those killed in the attacks of Sept. 11. Workers, shoppers in malls, eaters in restaurants, drivers in cars, everyone stopped and stood for the 3 minute silence at 12:20 pm EST.
Over 100,000 people flocked to Parliment Hill in Ottawa, Ontario to attend the government's official memorial service. I have seen some amazing pictures of the Hill completely covered in mourners, with people flooding out into Wellington Street and the streets beyond. I'm trying to find one of those photos to show you.
The picture I've included below is a very small one of someone flying an American Flag at the Hill's memorial service yesterday.
May the Goddess Bless You and Keep you within arms of Peace,
Wyrdsister
PS Here's a link to an article about the memorial. http://www.cbc.ca/cgi-bin/templates/view.cgi?/news/2001/09/14/canmem_010914

I heard a young woman on Wednesday. She found a newscaster on the street in Manhattan and told him that her husband worked for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 104th floor of the 1st tower. She said that he didn't come home on Tuesday and that she was looking for him. She said that he "has to come home. I need him. I'm seven months pregnant, and We've got 3 year old twins at home. I need him." I cried harder for that woman's loss than I did when my own father died. Everyone at Cantor Fitzgerald who was in the office died. Over 700 people. The Ceo was spared only because he took his son to kindergarten for his first day of school, and arrived as the building collapsed.
Due to a clause in most personal life insurance policies, the people who died aren't covered because there is a terrorism/act of war clause. Osama bin Laden owned stock in the insurance company that held a reinsurance policy on the WTC. He sold it right before the attack, and made a fortune to finance his next terrorist attack.
Yes, Gunner. We must never forgive and never forget.

A letter to the world
To my Brothers and Sisters worldwide,
I want to personally thank you for the support you are showing us in this time of horror and loss. Mere words cannot describe the feelings in this country (and me) as we watch and hear the things that are happening.
I sit here crying 4 days later due to the love I see on these pages. Perhaps it's because I've been getting 2-4 hrs. sleep a night, spending my time counseling others and writing but, it finally caught up with me today. Coming here and seeing this gives me the hope I need to carry on with what I am doing. Mainly, trying to help others get through this.
Again thank you from the bottom of my soul.
Peace,
Twig

I also thank all of the people in other countries who have been just as upset about this as we are. I thank you for your sympathy, and support, and love, and energy. I will tell you from the bottom of my heart: Thank you. I and everyone here appreciate this in ways that you will hopefully never be made to fully understand.

please note all photos i've posted here are from open sources on the web news services, etc., the bbc, moscow news, and others. my "permission" is not needed to use them as i do not "own" them and i would think that use in a non commercial web site would likely come under "fair use" doctrine.
