My Dad needs your help, please.

:heartthro My dad :heartthro Has Shingles.

Now in a normal healthy older person, this wouldn't be a real problem. Just like chickenpox revisited. But my father, who turns 60 next year, is in alot of pain. My mum finally got him to see a doctor, only after really nagging at him, as the spots came out 4 days ago and he wouldn't do anything about them.
Shingles can have other complications if the person who has them is not well in the first place and my dad has heart problems, eye problems and is generally not in the best of health. And to top it all off he wont rest! He insists on getting up and going to his fundraising stall. My parents raise money for the Bali Orphanages and also build computers for people here in Western Australia that can't afford one but need one for their kids for school purposes.

I just want him to rest, to get well and to be okay.

Please, if you have a little spare healthy energy left in you, could you please send it my fathers way?

Thank you. I think it might be. He just never slows down. I saw him hobbling around this morning when i dropped my daughter off to work with him, i almost cried. He is in alot more pain than i thought, i just wish he would listen to me and go home to bed. :(

Healing energy on its' way for your Dad. Both of my Grandfathers and my Dad were the same way. We had to threaten to tie one of my Grandfathers' in his chair to keep him off the roof when he had his roof redone. He was 95 and using a cane to walk but he thought he needed to be helping LOL. Encouragement to rest and eat well is your best bet sometimes.

We are now starting to get worried, the blisters are moving. They are covering his stomach and back. We are crossing our fingers that they start going down the body and not up. If the go up he could end up in the hospital. My dad is in so much pain right now that he can hardly move. The painkillers are only doing so much and the antibiotics he is on don't seem to be doing much.
I am so worried about him.

I saw my dad this morning and he is looking good. He has a bit more colour in his face and he is not wincing with every step. He says he still has a bit of pain but mostly it has susided to just an achiness.

I want to thank you brilliant wonderful loving caring special people. I love you all so so much for helping my dad to feel better.

I didn't catch this thread until today, but I'm so glad to hear he's doing better! Will still keep him in my thoughts and prayers so that he can finish healing without getting any worse...and some thoughts for you..a wonderful person for caring so much about your father.
