I will be sleeping, dreaming a wonderful dream and all of a sudden there is what i like to call a trigger, its usually a set of words someone else in the dream says, which is very out of place. the trigger usually wakes me up seconds before someone calls my home early in the morning. for example I was having a dream where I was driving my car at speeds that blurred everything outside the car when my radio in the car starts going FLYING DEATH!!! FLYING DEATH! now as soon as i heard it I Knew what it meant and awoke.there have been more occurances like that but that was the most memorable one.

Not so much a trigger phrase for me, but if i see myself in my own dream whether or not it is in a reflection or like and outer body experience, that usually snaps me awake.

yeah, that happens to me. but.. if i need up at a certain time in the morning.. like, for example, i used to get up at 4:30 every day so i had time to work out and run before the kidlets got up... well, i'd look at the clock, make note of the time before i went to sleep and think to myself.. you know.. something along the lines of 'wake up at 4:30am'... without fail, every morning at 4:28-4:29, something would happen in my dreams to wake me up. *shrug* for me it's always a suggestion i've made to myself... if A or B happen, i must wake up.. i dunno.. but yeah, that happens to me alot.

I had something weird happen to me similar to what you are saying... I was dreaming that I took my wallet out to fill out some kind of application in a crowded room. I needed to grab another form and I walked away from my wallet for a second. For some reason I kept walking and then turned back when I tried to get my wallet. The room was now empty and wallet no where in sight. I look around frantically even grab some body's shirt and threatened him.
Then for some reason I saw the wrongness of it all and said to myself. Wait, my wallet can't be missing because its in my pants pocket on the chair and I am still dreaming. Thats when I woke up and realized I forgot to set my alarm clock and I am late for work.
