No way...No way they could be twisting things like that...in a time like this...no way...

the show, dont know if that is true or not. But if so, it is the most anti-christian thing I have ever seen. Especially for a so-called christian group. God is about love, not terror. If you follow christian doctrine, he has no need to punish you now as he will judge all later. So that is plain stupid, like saying God blew up the WTC to teach all the non christian peoples a lesson. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. Can't say it enough. Where is their christian forgiveness? Their love for their fellow man? It is a sad statement for any organized religion.

Now maybe if you were Jewish, it could be interpreted differently. The Old Testament was pretty fierce, but not without good cause. Don't feel that's the case here. Man can be plenty evil to his fellow man.

I watched part of this broadcast but could not tolerate it for long. I became more furious with each word that oozed from his ghastly puss. Horrified from his comments and deeply saddened knowing that there are people out there who believe in his drivel, I turned the channel. I could go on forever denouncing him, but I won't. I will close this by saying " the only individuals responsible for these atrocities are the terrorist and no one else."

Peace be yours.... :heartthro

I second that!! I cannot believe anyone would SAY that!!! I mean I can't even believe anyone could would say such things...and honestly believe themselves to be right!!

This reminds me of a kid in my English class. Today we were told to write a response in our journals, including our views on retaliation. And this one student asked to read his aloud...

At first he had some good points, and then he started bringing God into it. His journal response to the option of retaliation then turned into a long "this is all an act of God and we have to keep strong and turn to him for guidance" lecture. I can't remember anything that he said exactly, but ask MistOfTheSea, he may know. It's not that it was wrong to put out his opinion, but the entry was over 5 minutes long, and we weren't allowed to respond to it, weren't allowed to tell our feelings on his entry. We HAD to listen to him talk about how his god was the greatest and how his god this and his god that and everything that happened happened because his god did it for some unknown reason, but oh no, it's good because god did it...So basically we were preached to...and it was allowed.

Aah, it just makes me angry how relgion seems to effect everything we do. I mean yeah, we all love our deities, whoever they may be, but to say this and that and this is how this is because this is the way it is and I said so, my god said so and you are bad for not liking it...is ridiculous! (if anyone got that :D)

I dunno, the words are there, but they're not coming out right...pardon me if I've come out overly opinionated...I just...we just don't need this. Not now...

One of the many reasons I don't watch either of their shows. Note that neither of them spoke at the National Cathedral today.

No pardon needed for you "SimplyStrange", I think you got your point across quite well without seeming overly opinionated.

What on earth were they drinking? Lead based paint followed by a drano chaser???

I always knew that Pat Robertson was a moron, but this takes the cake. How about we send him and his cronies over to NYC or DC to clear out the rubble, let them deal first hand with the reality of it all. Then let him get is rhinstone studded jumpsuit and polyester pastel suit coated with the dust, blood and gore of it all.

He might actually come back human. And who knows, he may even grow a pair and be a man. Otherwise, lets ship him off to some remote island and let him play the one man version of survivor. He'll have to find his tiki torch before he gets to vote himself off the island sans native guide, boyscout, compass, map or flash light. He'll have to use both hands and we can guess where that tiki torch will go.

What a moron.

So, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson believe the blame for
Tuesday's horrifying attacks should be laid at the feet of
feminists, lesbians, gays, abortionists and pagans, or those
who "are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle."

If I understand this correctly, then, the road to righteousness
(and therefore national security, by the argument) is to limit
the social freedoms of pretty much every demographic group
except straight adult males, to ensure that god's anger is not
stirred.
But, isn't that what the Taliban and Osama bin Laden have done?
It sounds as if Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson have become
apologists for madmen.
If that's the case, then maybe they should just shut up and
concentrate on helping the victims.

i may have already said this but from one straight, white adult male;

mr. falwell, mr. robertson, in regards to your recent comments on the tragedy in new york city. may i respectfully suggest you direct your attention to the sprig of mistletoe attached to my shirttail. you are invited to follow the ancient custom and kiss me under the mistletoe.

your words came out just fine.

NGLTF executive director Lorri L. Jean issued a statement that
read, in part, "The terrible tragedy that has befallen our nation,
and indeed the entire global community, is the sad byproduct of
fanaticism. It has its roots in the same fanaticism that enables
people like Jerry Falwell to preach hate against those who do not
think, live or love in the exact same way he does. The tragedies
that have occured this week did not occur because someone
made god mad, as Mr. Falwell asserts. They occured because of hate. It is time to move beyond a place of hate and to a place of
healing. We hope that Mr. Falwell will apologize to the U.S. and
world communities. Our hearts go out to the victims of this week's
tragedies and their friends and family members."

The only difference between bin Laden and Falwell and Robertson
is that Falwell and Robertson don't know how to build bombs.

Drop Robertson a line -- :D
Tell him what you think of hate-mongers.

they are the flip side of the coin of the terrorists and just like the good hypocrites they are ...... they wouldnt recognise themselves if they looked in a mirror......telling lies and thinking they are preaching truths ........
and I think they just revealed themselves to a lot of people......just like most hypocrites do and dont even realise they have done so......

I thankfully have never watched these jerks because I probably would have come unglued... But what I feel I need to mention is he said, not an exact quote, but everyone including the presidnet was calling to God and that was to throw it in our faces because this is our fault.. Did I summerize that correctly?

What somebody needs to realize is...wake up! I can really only speak for myself, but I believe most of us believe in some sort of higher power...in a "god" (and /or goddess as well!) ...So how would calling to God in a crisis be different for us?

What morons!

the 700 club, i watch them for entertainment, I never thought people could be that ignorant till i turned them on.

My brother heard about this, everyone has really. And my bro told me how when he was down at the site helping, tons of people were helping, gay, straight, black, white, didn't matter. But us INTELLIGENT people already knew that, too bad Robertson & Falwell couldn't open their minds up and see it doesn't matter what you look like or who you love. I wonder what these 2 have done for the relief efforts, besides send their prayers.
