Just curious, and hope this hasn't been done before, but was wondering: if you had a choice of changing either everything in your life (different mate, kids, career, lifestyle, etc...), or nothing, with no other choices (you can't change some things but keep other things the same, you'd have to wipe the slate clean and start all over or not start over at all) which would you choose, everything or nothing?

Kind of like the old cliche, "If I had it to do all over again...", would you, and why/why not?

As for me, I voted nothing. I haven't done a lot right in my life, but I can't imagine life without my kids or my pets, or my family. So, even with all the bad, I would have to leave everything the same.

i'd leave it. not because i like it, or it's perfect... because i have to be strong enough to make needed changes, if i changed it all... i might not need strength. i'd rather be strong than perfect.

I am happy with who I am and what is around me, I feel that everything has a purpose and we are all here to express love no matter the situation.

I'd change it all. I've never been happy in this lifetime. Maybe I would be in another.

Well there's no way I would "give back" my daughter, other stuff maybe, but not her, so I had to go with "I would change nothing". :cutesanta

change it all. i've managed to muddle through with all the bad decisions, etc,. i have made, but i would rather not have had to spend a year of my life in the desert in support of a war i don't believe in, plus at least one more upcoming. there are things i would rather not change, but overall i'd rather change it all if i could.

I would change nothing at all. I've had it hard sometimes and made some really bad decisions. Married a guy too young that I now know was completely wrong, but it all leads up to where I am now. I may not have everything and am even now going through hard times but I'm stronger for everything that I've gone through. I think that makes me happier with all the things that are right and gives me more potential to stay and be happy.

there have been times that i have thought back and wanted to change things in my life but then if i changed things i wouldnt be where i am today i wouldnt have learned some of the important lessons in life i needed to learn and to be honest changing things would not have necessarily made things better.. making wrong choices in the past have taught me how to make the right ones or at least better ones now..

I would change some things, but not everything, thus I chose nothing.

I think that changing everything would not be something I could not do in good conscience. Too many variables (the people whose lives would change around me) and not enough wisdom to know which things really need changing. That old line...Careful what you wish for :adidas:

I voted "Nothing, I'd do everything the same."

There have been times when I've wished I could wipe the slate clean and do everything all over again. But then I start thinking about all the good things that are mixed in with the bad, and I find there is actually more good than bad.

Every thing that has happened in my life has made who I am today, Yes there are things that I wish hadn't happend, but when I think "What if?" I lead myself to the point of "Well if my dad hadn't had a brain injury, than I might not have met some of my friends, and I might not have come here to Germany ect" so While I wish my family had more money, so that it would be easier on my mom, and I wish I had a better outside family (Grandmothers, aunts, uncles ect) And my mom wouldn't have to work as much, I'm glad I have the life I have! I have been able to be who I want to be and I would be afraid to change that, what if I was forced to be someone I wasn't? that would be far worse than anything I can think of! And I remeber choosing my mom, I choose her there for I chose my life. And I have been able to get where I want to go! :woot:

I'm who I am and what I am because of the life I've lead and the choices I've made. As much as I gripe about it, I wouldn't change it. :)

I have to say I am on the "change nothing" side here. If any of you have foloowed my life saga over this past year, you'all know it has been a horrific year. But that- as well as all of the other horrible times I have had- made me what I am- like Leo said-- *strong.*

And give up my hubby and kids, NEVER!

There *are* lots of things I have done I wish I could do over or rewrite, but lets just chalk them up to stupidity and lessons learned, even it took me many times to learn the lessons. :)

There are only a few things I'd change, which surprises even me because I had a rough childhood. I'm more or less pleased with how life turned out.

If when I changed it all, I could remember what I'd done in this life, so I could correct it, I'd probably change it all
If I wouldn't remember it, I wouldn't because I'd probably do the same things again

Nothing, I don´t have it excellent, but I love my SO and I have a somewhat good life. Plus life has made me learn a lot and I feel content with who I am.

I wouldn't change a thing. Sure there are problems in my life. There are problems in everyone's life. Despite those problems, I have a husband I love and a son I treasure. I wouldn't trade either of them in for the world. Besides who's to say that once I changed everything in my life wouldn't be worse than it is now. Sure it could be better, but it could also be a good site worse. I'm happy enough with this life.

I'd choose nothing, which sounds empty, but is the opposite. *shakes head*I mean in choosing to change nothing I embrace the life I have and all those in it and learn when I can. I would do it all again to get the lessons I needed and to provide comfort to others. Yes, it has been wonderful and horrible all rolled into one and somehow that all equals to an interesting experience. I literally mean just that.

Semele, it's kind of like that song, "I love this crazy tragic, sometimes almost magic awful beautiful life" huh? At least that's the way it is for me. It is crazy and tragic, awful and awful beautiful and magic all in one.

I would change nothing. My children, husband and family are my life. I've had some difficult painful times in my past, but this is the life I was meant to live. I'm very happy where I am now. If I were to chose to change it, I believe that I would simply end up in a different life, but with the same lessons to learn, so why bother? :whatgives:

I would change nothing. If I changed everything, I wouldn't be who I am... Yeah, I've had some pretty rotten horrible things in my life... more pain than any one person should have to cope with in a lifetime... but... those were lessons that I suspect I needed to learn for one reason or another. So, I gladly accept them and await what life has to offer me, and hope that in the lessons I've learned, I apply to the future. =)

I've been through some things and have litterally been on my knees begging for death, and in the end, I'm glad that I've gone through them and learned from those things. It makes me who I am.

Do I get to retain the wisdom I have learned? Then I would change everything just so I have a new experience with a sense of wisdom. Why bother if you make the same mistakes again?

If it's all or nothing, I voted nothing. I am where and who I am because I chose it to be that way so there's no reason to go back. Just like anyone else we aren't perfect either; we know we have it better than those less fortunate and are thankful. We do have little we'd like to change and so are currently working toward those goals by way of meditation, yoga, healthy lifestyle, work and college educations.

Every experience, good and bad, has taught me something valuable, so I'd do it all the same... but I'd like to have a fast-forward button to get to where I know what the valuable lesson is a bit quicker!

Although my life has been bad at times, i wouldn't change a thing.
Through some of those bad times, i had my children who are my life.
In those bad times, i learnt to endure, i became a stronger person.
The things i have been through, have made me the person i am, and i don't think i'm too bad of a person.
And i hope that i am able to help others because of what i have endured.

I haven't heard the song, but I think I could have written it!
