I was fortunate to have spent a night at beautiful Amberley Castle in the South Downs of England a few years ago. I wanted to stay in the oldest yet most luxuriuous castle I could find and here she was, this beautiful, grand medieval one. It was an amazing experience I will never forget.

One of the things I wanted to do was to bring some soil back from the castle to represent the element of Earth in my rituals. So one morning I strolled the grounds waiting to find the "right" spot. I found the rose garden and knew it was where I was going to gather the soil. Roses represent love, so it was the perfect and tranquil place to do this.

I said a quiet blessing, filled up a ziplock baggie I had brought (and prayed customs wouldn't find and wonder what crackpot would bring home a bag of dirt hehe). I said thank you and stepped back to snap a pic. I wanted a photo to remember the spot where I got it.

Looking at the photo, I was definitely not alone! Along with the sunshine poking through, there's many misty apparitions, a bizarre orb and someone on the far right peeking at me!

Anyway, enjoy the photo... I can't wait to return to Amberley Castle, it really was magical.

Here's a non-ghosty photo I took. The Bodium Room (mine) is the third window on the right...

That's so cool! If I went to England I wouldn't mind doing the same. Staying in a castle would be fun! :)

Nice pic of the orb and mists...

What a beautiful place :)

Not to be a wet blanket, but to me the orbs etc look like sunshine reflection on the lens- I have the exact same thing on hundreds of photoes.

I just checked out the Castle Website. Those rooms are sooo cool! Which one did you stay in?

If you don't me asking...

Hey Gwynna, no problem. I stayed in the Bodium Room. If you look at the pic of the front of the castle, mine is the window that is opened. This is the view from that window :) Oh, did I mention my room sat on top of one of the two oubliers? Those were the "pits," where they threw people to die. I'm glad I had so much champagne that night I would have never known who was haunting me, LOL!

Cool Room!! I just checked out the pic.

Actually all the rooms look very nice and cozy. Very English! :)

LOL! Yes, I would've had some champagne as well. That's a bit scary knowing a bunch of people died near that room. :yikes:
