Spell broken?

I hope this dosn't sound like a dumb question...I've been Wiccan for near 7 years but have limited expereince with spells. About a year ago I cast a spell to find a new familar...specifically a cat. I used knot work for the spell, interweiving a strand of my hair, a large fragment of a cat toy was added as a charm and tailsman like object and I knoted it togther to form a cute little bracelet. I wore this bracelet constantly for months, patently awaiting my new compianion. The spell worked very well, I got my familar...in the form of a rat, but she's everything I was seeking in a familar. :heartthro The question is that today I'd set the braclet down (I still wore it on occasion) on my nightstand, then my brother come in and broke the cat toy fragment in half. It's probaley stupied, but I am worried that he somehow broke the spell, or that it is a warning that something bad might happen to my rat. Is this even a possibly? Or does him breaking it mean that that my will has been done and I should give thanks to the Goddess somehow?

I would agree with Faeawyn. You have found your familiar, and your spell has manifested as you desired.
If you feel a deep concern about the fate of your talisman then you might do a small ritual to help put your own mind at rest. Perhaps collect up the pieces of the bracelet, wrap them in a piece of blue cloth, do a small ritual to thank whoever you feel appropriate for bringing your familiar safely to you, and then bury the parcel with the bracelet under a favorite tree, a favorite place in your garden or park, or even place it in the bottom of a nice pot and either plant seeds or a nice plant in it to have in your room. That way you would be honoring the "spirit" of the spell that brought your familiar to you. While it might not be necessary in a magical sense, sometimes we do need to do things for our own peace of mind.
