Different Voice Than Mine When Doing Spell

This has happened to me several times now and I'm unsure of how I feel. Has anyone ever when doing a spell or chanting ever done it in a voice that is not your own. Like if someone else is saying the words.

Just a few minutes ago I was chanting a spell and this happened. My arms are still really jittery from the power that came through and now I feel as if I'm tripping from too much caffeine. I didn't do anything but chant the spell.

My voice came out really raspy and foreign accented though it was in english.

If anyone can help me with this I'd appreciate it. It's pretty freaky in a good way. I'm not afraid I just felt so much power that I thought I was going to explode.

I also hope this is making sense as I write this my hands are still twitching pretty badly.

Yes. When I go really deep into ritual the chanting sometimes comes out in a voice not my own. I've never given any thought at all as to why this happens so I can't offer any explanations. Sorry. Feels good though, doesn't it?

Maybe you invoked a spirit through the much concentrated deep energy?

My voice often changes if I have performed invocation, although I don't know how you do your spells...so that might not be of much help.

You might just be unconsciencely useing a different voice because when in ritual, you're in a different frame of mind. I do that sometimes.

It sounds as if you are wondering whether a deity took control or partial control during your ritual. Its possible, but normally you dont get that unintentionally and most often it takes time and prep work to do. It is as likely that you just dissociated somewhat and felt as if someone else was saying the ritual words due to this mental dissociation.

my thoughts on it would be that you have channeled a spirit guide or something along those lines.. this sort of thing i have seen with mediums that allow guides and spirits to use their body while they are in a trance state to bring messages through..

One of the strange things, was that the voice although it wasn't mine know was not unfamiliar to me. I know I have a past life where I was a seer and I wonder if I was channeling so much that that former part of me came through to add the extra kick maybe that my spell needed.

I'm also really close to the Goddess that calls me (Hecate) I don't even have to call upon her anymore to feel her beside me. So it may have been her channeling through me also.

It was wonderful and gave me an energy burst in spades. I hope that it happens again it was awesome and some of the most powerful magick that I have ever felt._happydanc

It makes all kinds of sense, babe, breathe deep, and calm, ground...
Remember that what drives magick is the Will... and that those who have seen Movies in the Western world are subject to hollywood's ideas to some extent.. your subconscious might be representing your Will in a way that seems more dramatic to it.... or, you could be dealing with a past-life memory, ... and there are several other possibilities.

Don't panic, calm down, and use the pendulum technique to help figure out what's going on...

try taping yourself next time, so that you can replay it and analyse it, to see what accent it is and any anything else it may jog :)

In my mind, but I am known for simplicity, the entire vibration of your body is shifting to catch a higher current of energy. When the vibration of your body changes, the throat chakra also begins to vibrate at a different level, thereby causing it to sound like a completely unfamiliar voice.

Once the shift is initiated, it is then up to you to decide to access a voice of a deity, create a channel of your own, label the voice as one of your higher self, or the one for most concern or care is that you are actually channeling a psychic from Europe or an old friends...

I have millions of voices, it is a lot of fun to work on the various voices induced by shifting into a higher vibration......

Two reasons I don't recommend this:

1--Ritual is sacred--taping it is not appropriate, IMO

2--if that much energy as what was described was being raised...they may fry the recorder.

Yes, I have chanted in a different voice during ritual. One time, during a time of utmost extreem emotional turmoil and trauma, I went into nature to connect and then just stay in the prescence of whatever choose to come in a receptive manner, that is, where my higer self is in control, and my human self is "asleep", I started to hum a strange melody Ive never heard before, and then chant in a voice not my own words totally and completly foreign to me. I only speak english. But there I was, using a powerful and loud commanding voice, (my normal one is shy and quiet), my arms raised to the star speckeled sky, and as I spoke, the wind whorled around me, and my hair flew up and whipped all around like a tornado above me, until finally I stopped, the wind stopped, and then I slumped to the ground, more drained then I have ever been. LOL. I have attempted to achieve this state again, believe me, but it only happened this once. It felt, inside, as though someone or something other then myself was also inside me.

I brought this thread up to ask if you were finding a better balance with the voice changes...I see now you weren't working on "being a channel" that when you were performing ritual, you were invoking your true inner self.

I usually only have that happen when I'm speaking in tongues, and that's not me talking. With me, it's a form of prayer and/or prophecy (usually prayer since noone with interpretation of tonges is ever around, dang it!), and it seems to be about the Diety seeing a need for something to be prayed over that I am unaware of, but since the Diety knows my heart, he/she knows I wouldn't mind and don't mind. I am always in a position where I could stop it at any time if I choose, so it's not really possession in my case. For me, it's mostly like communing with the Diety's knowledge of things. Haven't had it happen for a couple of years, though.

I had this happen to me not too long back.There was something very wrong and I was troubled not knowing what it was at the time. After the incident ,I was at the most peaceful state ever.I knew things would be ok and that my Spirit Guide had interviened on my behalf. 4 days later I found out what had happened and realized I had no clue how bad things were at the time I began chanting. I never knew it was at the point of life and death situation until later.

The voice is a very powerful thing when harnessed at its full potential. What you experienced is a very normal thing when you are in a state of self empowerment (quite common during chants and spells). If you practice and learn how to control this inner voice, it can be an extremely potent tool, and a very sacred one, so only use it when the time is right.
When you practice with your inner voice, you may also notice that other things around you may react to it as well. (like the flame of a candle, or the vibration of rocks)
One very extraordinary experience is to use your inner voice while in the presence of a certain kind of rock called bluestone (especially if you perform your inner voice within a circle of them!) It is quite common for the bluestone to vibrate and almost hum or sing when a large quantity of energy is present!

I was having fun with voices other than my own but, it was like going through puberty again. So, I am kind of sick of it, just like when my voice got way deep in high school...

achievement of the alpha state is a desirable state of awereness considered very powerful and allows for a deeper connection with your higher self...

If you experienced a trance like state, it is possible you were in alpha

I haven't had experiences where I feel as if I am speaking as someone else or with a different voice altogether. I have, however, heard my voice become more deeper, richer in timbre but still my voice. I have however howled; howling is a natural response for me at times when the energy reaches its peak.
