I got my decks already!

I got a package from LLewellyn and I got the Tarot of the Masters and Renaissance Tarot....I can't believe I got them for $5 each! I also got the 2005 Tarot Reader, it has alot of articles and spreads...anyone else buy any on sale?

yup, same one...do you like it? They are very different from the standard Waite style decks....I haven't worked with them yet, just browsed through the cards :)

My husband bought it for my last summer as a bday gift. Not sure why he selected that deck in general but I do like it. I think the art is very nice for an older styled deck. And when I read the booklet about the history I was very impressed. You see when the Rider Waite deck was produced in 1910 (?) it was supposedly the first one to add pictures to the minor arcana. Before that the 4 suits just looked like playing cards. But the Tarot of the Master was produced early in 1890's and indeed does have pictures on all minor arcana. I found this fascinating!!

Of course when I look at the pictures I am not sure how much they reflect any meaning of the card itself. They seem more like fancy stylized images but I plan to take a closer look. I brought this deck to a Tarot discussion and a reader who seems way more experienced than I said the images on cards absolutely showed the meanings.

Anyway, I think the deck is charming but have not read with it yet. I branch out into reading with new decks really sloooooooooowly.
