Just a question for all of those who embrace the Great Goddess or another female deity out there....
Who is the Goddess to you? Is she some being watching over us or all around us and in us? Does she have a form that looks like a human? Can she manifest herself resembling a human or another animal? How do you picture her?

I picture her as pure energy. The other half of the All. As an image, I have always liked to look upon Athena.

I see her as negative energy, nurturing motherly energy, young, feminine energy, the epitome of feminine and negative energy.... she is the polar to the God, and part of the All.. some people access certain parts of her energy by using an archetype - one of her faces to access related concepts, if you will.... right now I've been concentrating on her in the face of Hekate...

Interesting question, I see the goddess as being all the beings of nature combined:) Like all the doves and such. I actually had a meditation where I saw her become herself from all the nature around her. Like the doves flew in, and the vines from the ground, the squrriels.... And then she came up and kissed me... as She bursted into a million Butterflies and doves. :)

Hi,
Being a Witch who is skeptical about Deities from time to time,I have a wide agnostic streak, but love the idea of a Goddess.
So I see her most often as the earth itself,as Gaia. But sometimes I see her as a wise teacher,or even a fierce protector, and use the name Aradia,or Diana. She's also the dark mother, whom I call Hecate. She's so many things to me,it's kinda hard to describe. So many aspects to her,I still haven't come to see them all.

I see the Goddess as an uber-powerful entity of generally (what we would call) feminine energies that can traverse dimensions at will, do just about whatever she wants, and appears however she wants to. She was one of the most powerful creations amidst the stray jetsam and flotsam of existence created by the struggle between Chaos, Order, and Nothing back when our universe didn't even exist yet, and she's been enjoying existence ever since.

The soul of nature that gives life to the universe.
This "deity", for me, isn't even a sentient being, but maybe just an all encompassing power of life and existance.
And yet I communicate with it; call it "her" and sometimes use the various personifications, usually female, we all know. I believe my efforts to know it, however well intentioned, carry the risk of limiting definition. So my understanding of her isn't so much what it isn't or is, but simply is an acknowlegment that I don't know her fullness.

For me, she is the energy of the universe, part of everything and nothing at once. She can take on any form imaginable, because everyone see her differently. I see her as the embodiment of night, a slumbering dragon, a beautiful women, the bringer of death, etc. Her energy exists in all things. She is all and she is nothing. She is limitless.

The Goddess is all people and all things. She is also the absence of all things. I guess in other words She is everything and nothing. She can assume any form that she wishes.
She is a sentient being that actively watches over and protects all her children (those that follow and believe in her). Yet at the same time she is also willing to aid any one else if they cry to her for help.

Great replies. It is really interesting that every reply is different in some sense. Just reflecting the diversity of the Goddess and humanity.
Great!
