I am not in the habit of asking for prayers and energy of best wishes, but I solemnly feel that my half-sister, nevertheless Our Sister, Marie, deserves better goodwil than she has recieved. :bigredblu
My father raised her protestant, so much so that when Marie was a little one , she would make fun of Catholics and all things Catholic. Her first marriage was living hell. She married a man who she loved, but who did not love her. He abused her and he was very a shovinist. :( She married and served him under a Protestant church.
Then she met John. They fell in love. But John is a Latin-speaking Roman-Catholic man - he could not have married her, unless she took to the Catholic church. So she did. She spend something like 3 years learning about the religion, and becoming fully "sanctified" by it, before she was able to have sexual relations or marry John.
Twenty years later, she has three children - and a husband who is something of a tirent in life, as is sadly - in mine opinion - commonplace and sterotypical of Catholic families. She does not agree with the Catholic church on almost any ground, just as she does not agree with her husband on any ground. He always gets his way, regardless of her desires and rights - in mine opinion which I say is not unjust.
Marie has studied Feng Shui for the past 10 years. She is also a Reiki master and Yogi. John does not agree with her doing these things, he would like her to stop ... why? he feels it is an inprofitable waste of time. Marie has tried endlessly to get her Holistic career off the ground.
She even built a stawbail house that they now live in - their family. She gives tours, in the hopes that people will pay her for her time and expertise towards building their own straw bil home. But everytime she mentions money they turn away.
Going back to the straw bail house, the intial plan was to build a 27x27 house that fit their needs. She had the design done beautifully, but John did not accept it. He complained about the size of the kid's rooms and the yada yada. So she gave in and designed exactly as he said. He came up with a two phase design. Phase 1 was constructed four years ago. Phase 2 was supposed to be done within one year of the 1st, but John has pushed it three years behind schedule because of financial problems... the house they live in now doesn't suit them. They are wayy to squished.
John has told her that come summer, she needs to have a full-time job, bringing in substantial income, because they need the money: to support his hockey playing.... oh and the Phase II. John wants her to continue as a supply teacher. She hates teaching. She is not capable of being as firm with the students as she needs to be. But they need the money. Marie's been unable to get established in the Holistic zone and I really feel her stress. John's rejection of her Holistic practises makes her own children not obey her. She's more of a person that cleans and cooks for her family , like a live in SLAVE, than a mother.
The patriarchial situation ails me. Her unhappiness with the whole situation I just wish wasn't so terrible. She seems as it she's slowly dieing from the inside.:(
Any thoughts or prayers that anyone might send her direction would be greatly appreciated.
Peace and Love.
