New England Pagan Conference Planning Committee Announcement:
In light of the recent tragedy that has befallen our country, we the
Planning Committee of the New England Pagan Conference, have respectfully
opted to postpone the Conference.
We thank all who supported us in our attempt to create this conference.
We will be in contact with each and everyone of you. Know well that any
concept of this type needs the strong support of community and those who
serve it.
We will be refunding all monies sent via the mail. We strongly encourage
all to send money and donations of needed goods to the agencies in charge of
relief efforts. May the Goddess bless America and her people.
Statement from the Conference Coordinator:
Although this Conference had to be postponed it lives on, it's goals
realized through the thousands of deaths at the hands of terrorists who
sought to bring this nation to its knees. Instead, they woke a sleeping
giant.
What they didn't realize, and we ourselves had forgotten, is that America
is a family of United States and United Citizens. Like most other families
we were siblings constantly bickering over issues of race, religion, gender
and politics. But the moment the family was attacked we remembered who we
were and came together, once more a family united and galvanized in common
cause.
This family also has its black sheep: the Jerry Falwells and Pat
Robertsons who want to get us back fighting again and blaming each otheras
well as the skin-head mentality looking to legitimize its rage and seeking a
target for its bloodlust, this time around, by blaming all those of Middle
Eastern descent for the horrendous crimes of a tiny minority of terrorists,
who are no sicker or more dangerous than themselves. PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM
DESTROY THIS NEW UNITY AND AWARENESS OF FAMILY IT TOOK THE DEATHS OF SO MANY
INNOCENTS TO FINALLY ACCOMPLISH!!
Disarm and imprison the dangerous ones. Run don't walk from those
who preach hatred and persecution IN GOD'S NAME for those who don't
believe as they do. Otherwise, Ignore them, shun them for the
self-castrated social eunochs that they are.
We are looking to reschedule the Conference for sometime in April of 2002
and as soon as a new date is confirmed, we will be in touch with everyone.
But in the meantime, I would like to offer the use of my back yard and
AppleMoon's ritual firepit on Saturday, September 29th for an all-day and
evening inter-faith vigil an ecumenical joint merging of prayer and magick.
The fucus of our working will be three-fold:
Send healing for those wounded souls, so violently torn from
this world and help making a peaceful transition;
Healing and comfort as well for the survivors; and...
Neutralizing of terrorist activities everywhere, so that the
harm they would visit on their intended victims turns back
with even greater force on the senders.
Come and go as you will; bring food for sharing and drums as well as
other percussion and musical instruments to help us raise energy and love and
the only 'admission fee' will be a donation to the Red Cross of United Way
for the Disaster victims or to the shelters the Conference was originally
hoping to raise money for. Send your donation directly to them (addresses at
the end of this posting) or drop coins and dollar bills into Cerridwen's
Cauldron which will be set up on the altar near the fire pit.
If you can't come in person, be here with us in spirit. Take time on
that day or evening to pray or raise magic to merge with ours. Let September
29th, in Groton MA, on the banks of the Nashua River, be the focal point
where many spiritual paths come together in perfect love and perfect trust,
both here and on the Higher Astral Planes
